The Place to Stay for Disney
iancarpy (Milton Keynes, United Kingdom) on May 19, 2024
This is a great hotel - and so convenient for the parks. The pools are great, and a nice place to relax if you take a break from the parks. There is no getting away from the fact that the price to stay here is expensive. We considered other, potentially better and cheaper, hotels but in the end chose the Disneyland and did not regret it. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which was actually considerably cheaper than our other option of booking 3 separate rooms. If you can justify the cost I’m sure you won’t regret it
Old fashioned hotel but excellent location

The hotel is old and dated. Unfortunately, there was a perfumed/smoky odor masked by a deodorizer. Sewage odor on the 1st day. Both odors dissipated by the second day. The carpet is worn, and the bathroom needs to be remodeled. My room was next to the elevator. So, it was difficult to sleep due to hearing the elevator go up and down all night. The headboard of the bed was lovely. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms in the lobby were small and super dated. Breakfast at Trader Sam’s was delicious. The best part was the location. If one prefers a more modern hotel, I recommend the Westin or JW Marriott.
Stay away in May

Loud construction starting each morning at 5am. The main waterslide was closed for construction. The showerhead loose and cheap. The staff was notified and didn't make any attempt to satisfy. Not at all satisfied for the price, will not stay again.
Great location

This historic hotel is a big complex with several towers around a large pool and Trader Sam’s quick service and Tiki bar. The staff were pleasant and quick to help. The parking lot was just behind the main lobby, very easy to get to. Our room was nice sized and comfortable, it was just up a quick elevator ride. We only used Trader Sam’s for breakfast pastries, it was very convenient. The hotel says it’s connected to Disneyland by the monorail, but the monorail is a 6-8 minute walk from the lobby. But once you get there, it’s a direct ride to the Tomorrowland area of the park, nice way to avoid the crowds. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the main entrance of either park right through the narrow, and sometimes crowded, Downtown Disney. It’s really lit up nicely at night, very attractive. Overall, nice resort in a great convenient location.
Had to sponge bathe -unacceptable

We left for the park and our tub was dry (4 showers had been taken the night before), came back at 10 pm and it was filled with WARM water -so obviously someone in the hotel knew the problem. When we called for maintenance, 30+ minutes later we were given towels. We had to SPONGE BATHE at an expensive Disney hotel. Absolutely degrading and unacceptable. When we complained to a manager - after talking with 4 employees, all we were given were lightning lane passes for our last day out of 3 days. They have shown they care more about being corporate than continuing the Disney magic and taking care of their guests. I have never been treated so poorly at a hotel. We will not be back.
