The Villas at Disneyland Hotel - Deluxe Studios Preferred View

Wils040 (Cheshire, United Kingdom) on Dec 10, 2024

Fantastic hotel with big clean rooms and great location for Disney. We checked in through and were able to unlock our hotel door on the Disneyland App. The process was simple and smooth, we did have an issue with the gates around the property though as the app wouldn’t work so we visited the main reception in the Fantasy Tower and they provided a card key. The reception was very polite and apologetic and it only took a few minutes to sort out. Apparently there is a slight issue with the app where that can happen with App check in. We had the Deluxe Studio - Preferred View room in the new Villas at Disneyland Hotel DVC Tower overlooking the pool. The room itself is very spacious, clean and modern. Simply can’t fault the room in any way, all the little things like sockets and mirrors the room had in abundance. The room was decorated with a few nods to Princess and the frog, the room came with a fully fitted kitchen and large dining area. There’s a couch which folds out into an extra bed and a separate bedroom with a bathroom ensuite in addition to the regular bathroom in the room. The room also has an outdoor Balcony with seats and an outdoor table where you can see the large pool area. The hotel does consist of 4 towers and the footprint of the hotel is quite large so can seem busy at times however it is very well laid out and there are plenty of sections filled with bits to explore and it consists of a few food and drink locations to take advantage of such as Goofys Kitchen which is the character dining location, Tangaroa Terrace which is the outdoor quick service restaurant, Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar, Palm Breeze bar and The Coffee House(which was being renovated while we were there). We visited Trader Sam’s which was great and on par with its East Coast counterpart. One place on property we were disappointed with though was Terrce, we Moblie Ordered our food in order to take it back to the room and were told to collect our food as it was ready for pick up only to wait another 35 minutes in the restaurant for the food to be ready. All the while people came in and ordered at the counter the same food and got it within 5-10 minutes. Pretty frustrating and a bit of a let down so I would probably advise to go in and order instead of using the app. However the hotel is next to downtown Disney, less than 5 minutes walk, so this can allow you to pop over and grab food from any of the outlets there in no time at all which we did a few times and something I would recommend. If you are staying in the area I would 100% recommend and you would not be disappointed. I think you could stay just a few nights and enjoy downtown Disney and the hotel facilities without going to the parks and have a great time. It wasn’t just a great Disney hotel but an excellent hotel full stop and even non fans of Disney would be delighted to stay in it.

Hotel staff will enter your room even if the sign is up

MNL2048 on Dec 05, 2024

We recently stayed here and we having a good time. On the second day we decided to go to the room and nap so I put up the do not disturb sign. Just as we’re about the dose. We woke up to hotel staff coming in the room. I immediately check to see if the sign has fallen down when I got to the door, but saw that it was still there and looked up at the staff and they said sorry we were checking to see if anyone was in here. We thought it was totally strange and wondered if they came in the day before too. In the morning, I went down to talk with the manager and let them know that hotel staff came out of room when we had to sign up and the manager was pretty blasé and said that that is totally normal. So if you’re planning on staying here, just know that the staff will come in no matter what.

Love staying in the bubble

Claireleecherry (Oakland, California) on Nov 24, 2024

Expensive and overpriced? Yes. Worth it, if your priority is to stay in the bubble. Clean and well themed without being over the top. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing pool. Extremely convenient to enter the park via monorail. It is a short walk to DCA. There are closer hotels on Harbor Blvd. walking through downtown Disney is much more pleasant. Disneyland Hotel feels more Disney than Grand Californian although it is not as convenient. We stayed in Frontier tower and were worried about being far away from the downtown Disney. It is all very close. The hotel grounds aren’t that big. It was magical to be assigned a room with a lovely view of the pool.

Poor customer service

Claude S on Nov 20, 2024

This is my third time staying at Disney Land hotel, and unfortunately it will be my family’s last. The customer service at the front desk this evening was so disappointing this time with supervisor Naomi. We had magic key reservations and were told by the desk agent at check in that it would be a piece of cake to change parks, they can override the reservation “no problem” once we solidify our plans. Well, less than 2 days later when our family flew in and had single day non-park hop tix we went to the desk the day before to see about aligning our reservation with theirs and got a “nope, maybe ask the ticket booth tomorrow, nothing we can do”. Very frustrating given that we explained our exact situation and had planned ahead, and have had no issues with reservation overrides in the past when staying on site. In fact, that’s one of the reasons we elect to stay at Disneyland hotel, but this time we were treated like a number…no understanding of the fact that their staff are extremely inconsistent in what they are willing to do, never mind the hour I wasted waiting in line to be told “no we’re not supposed to, the staff that did this many times before for you were not informed, nothing we can do - have a good night”. Amazing to be treated this way given our membership and number of visits this year. Lesson learned.

Amazing stay with my family

krys_si_tal (Honolulu, Hawaii) on Nov 12, 2024

It's been about 6 years since my last stay at the Disneyland hotel. It was as great as I could remember! We stayed in a 2 bedroom family suite with our friends who also had little ones. The kids were soo amazed with the headboards that lit up. The kids really felt the magic of Disney throughout our stay. Our living room was HUGE! Plenty of room for the kids to relax. This particular family suite is located in the Adventure tower. The beds were very comfortable. The combination of the parks and comfy beds, my kids got 10 hours of sleep every night. There is guest laundry on the property. Although their signs were a little difficult to follow. I felt like the signs were pulled from Alice in Wonderland. Arrows pointing in different directions. I finally used one of the phones in the lobby. I found out guest laundry was in the new Discovery tower. The Disneyland hotel I feel is the furthest away from the parks. But you can always take the monorail to take some of the walking time off if you'd like to start your day in Tomorrowland.
