Nice place to stay in

This is an older yet nice and well located hotel near Waikiki Beach. The beach is right across the street from the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. Room amenities include ...toiletries, coffee maker, safe, refrigerator, TV, daily newspaper. Our partial beach view room was lovely with very nice views of the beach. The hotel is in a safe corridor of the street and one can only access the floors with the room's key card. Parking is limited and the lot was routinely full during our stay. A popular breakfast restaurant is conveniently located in lobby area. The hotel will provide beach towels to the guests. Hotel staff are very nice and responsive to the guests needs.
Would stay there again!

If you are wishing for the dazzling, upscale look of a Westin, Hilton, Sheraton...this hotel is not it. However…. PROS: It IS a safe, no- frills, clean, very conveniently located and reasonably priced lo...dging in Waikiki. The beach is right across the street from the hotel and a plethora of shops and eateries are within walking distance of the building. To enter the hotel you will drive up a slope to their guest registration spots (time limited parking). If you are walking out and about, you can walk up this slope, or climb the adjacent wide stairs to enter the open lobby. The lobby has neat photos of what the hotel looked like back when it was built, at a time when it wasn’t dwarfed by all the other buildings that surround it in present day. Two elevators are in this lobby and to access your floor you must use your key card. The rooms are not huge but adequately sized for two persons. Our room was nicely decorated in soothing colors of blues and greens. The bathroom was smallish with a curtained step-in shower stall that is comparable in size to a cruise ship stall. The shower enclosure has shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. The bathroom counter-top is not ample, but enough for one's basic toiletries. A cute beach pail and shovel are placed on it with extra toilet paper rolls. Plenty of towels are provided. The bathroom commode is somewhat low (height-wise), which might be an issue for those with impaired knees. The bedroom's dresser/TV stand and side table have ample drawers and the closet is a good size with plenty of shelves and storage space. Near the closet is a built in desk area with a “Keurig-type" coffee maker and assorted coffee and tea pods, cream, sweeteners, cups. This area also has a small refrigerator. Two plastic water bottles are supplied and can be filled in a filtered-water dispenser on the lobby. The lobby also has an adjacent waiting area containing chairs, small microwave and DVD rental unit. The room supplies are replenished daily, and the hotel also provides beach towels. The room had plenty of electrical outlets and the air-conditioning was great. Our partial ocean-view room was quiet. It gave us a perfect view of Waikiki beach and was delightfully breezy. There is no swimming pool on hotel grounds. Conveniently located in the lobby of this Aston hotel is a breakfast eatery, Eggs N' Things, which consistently had a big crowd of customers waiting outside in the lobby for a table inside the eatery. Aston Waikiki Circle guests also get a discount at this eatery. On the side of the registration parking spot, one will find a faucet and hose to rinse out the sand from the beach. There are also racks with assorted beach paraphernalia (masks, snorkels, etc) which apparently are for the use of the hotel guests, though we didn’t use these. The hotel staff is very pleasant and friendly. Housekeeping was great. Our rooms were very clean. The beds though comfortable, did have some saggy areas, we would have preferred firmer mattresses. The TV had plenty of channels. CONS: parking area underground has very limited parking and the lot is usually full. Word of advice: don't rent a car larger than a mid- size vehicle. If their lot is full, you will be directed to park in other buildings' facilities, some a walking distance away. You will reach your 10,000 daily steps quota. All parking whether at this hotel or elsewhere has a daily fee. Overall, this reviewer recommends the Aston Waikiki Circle.
