A perfect stay!

M-from-Wyckoff (Wyckoff, New Jersey) on Sep 28, 2024

I can only say it was absolutely the perfect stay! We returned to Maui for our 25th wedding anniversary and could not have asked for more. Beautiful grounds, exceptional staff, incredible infinity pools and gorgeous beach! The restaurants were all wonderful! Truly the perfect place to celebrate!

Beautiful

Beautiful place, excellent staff, went on a conference. Too expensive for even an average middle class person though to afford to eat on site or extra amenities.

Best Maui resort

Best resort I visited in Hawaii. The staff here is very friendly. I arrived late due to my flight (almost midnight) but they still welcomed my family with warm Hawaiian smile and guided us to our room.

Incredible

We had the most beautiful trip here. Best vacation of my life! Thank you to all of the Andaz employees for doing everything so well. You guys are all such a class act & created the best vacation for our family! We were blown away from the minute we set foot inside. The white Lei greeting was so special. Whatever scent you're pumping through the lobby with air fresheners...keep it up! Truly smelled like what you dream of when you think of Hawaii in here. So relaxing to walk in and smell that even though you know it's artificial lol. The beautiful view when I walked in...I felt like I was in a movie. It's just gorgeous there. I love the sand in the middle of the lobby. We all LOVED this place. It was so nice and quiet. Very peaceful here. We were thankful for this after coming from Waikiki. We walked to the grand Wailea & four seasons one night for dinner and while I will say they maybe look more lavish and larger than the Andaz, they also looked and sounded crowded. The Andaz feels like down to earth, quiet luxury whereas the four seasons looks too fancy/too marble to relax. To me what the Andaz most had going for it was that it was so quiet every night. Small and tranquil. If you want to relax quietly in a pool or on the beach, this is your place. This isn't a water park looking resort and thus there were no kids or splashing to be found. Beautiful, beautiful beach. I'm so thankful to the guys who set up umbrellas and chairs for us at the beach at no additional cost each day. Really made our vacation. The umbrellas at the pool were great too. All of the employees were just so accommodating and good at what they did. They made the vacation! We met wonderful people at the front desk, valet and shuttle service, restaurants and beach stand, and the cleaning people. These people are all trained to make everything seamless and treat you with respect. Everyday if you encountered an employee, they would ask about your excursions for the day and if you had fun. I could tell they were trained to ask this, but they really were quite pleasant to converse with and it was such a nice touch. I just was so impressed by the employees here and thought they made the vacation so special. We had initially booked regular rooms here but decided to upgrade to a villa upon check-in. I didn't think it could be worth the extra cost, but it certainly was. Stunning view right on the beach. We so enjoyed sitting on the balcony at the giant table each night watching the sunset. Loved how spacious and modern it was with the button controls for blinds, lights, etc. This is an extremely beautiful property overall. While this was a once in a lifetime sort of vacation for us, I hope to be able to go back here someday. It was just so memorable. I only wish it wasn't over $1000 a night for a room here. Also, the brunch was DELICIOUS and we looked forward to it so much each morning. Definitely too expensive for us at $66 per person though had it not been included with our room. The restaurant employees did an excellent job with the seating every morning and I felt comfortable going to breakfast by myself and always got a table with a great ocean view. I have to mention the luau too. It was just SO beautiful! While you know that none of the luaus are authentic and they just put them on as a show for the sake of tourists, this one was exceptionally beautiful. One of the only ones with the beach in the backdrop. It was just beyond beautiful at sunset. We enjoyed all of the dancing and storytelling. The fire dancing at the end was amazing! And all of the cast was so personable and did congratulations and greeted everyone afterwards. This was such a memorable experience. I'll never forget how perfect the night of this luau was. I would love to do it again! The food was decent, yes the portions were somewhat small and didn't have the wide variety and buffet you might expect from a luau. But for me the show was so beautiful I didn't care about the food so much. The woman who headed the luau has such a pleasant voice. And thank you to the employee who encouraged me to watch the luau again for free from another spot on the resort another night! This is where the employees really made the vacation experience. While all the pros far outweigh any of the small # of cons here, I will mention them for the sake of what I feel is an accurate assessment. We definitely had various billing mistakes here and though the employees kindly talked them out with us and we were able to get things right in the end, it did take up a chunk of time having to correct things on numerous days. Also the rooms were not ready at the stated time upon check-in. We had 4 regular rooms the first night and they were not ready for a 4pm check-in time. It did feel like we waited in the lobby for awhile at points. The standard rooms are also a little smaller than you'd hope for. Nothing too inconvenient or crazy, but yes they are on the small side. If they could put fans in the bathrooms for the sake of privacy, that would be amazing because no one wants to hear you in the bathroom lol. I ran water instead of a fan for privacy, and I HATE to waste water. Lastly, there are Portuguese Man o war in the water at the beach here. I got stung and it hurt really bad and made me afraid to go back in the water. I wish there were warning signs about this here because I had no idea what I got stung by or that they were even in the water. Upon my own research I realized what it was and why I never saw the body and only a blue thread. The employees didn't care to warn others about this. Others got stung by sea urchins that day, so do use caution when going in the water. It was windy and that's when the man o wars appear, so avoid the ocean here when windy. I can't thank those who work at the Andaz enough for such an amazing vacation. They're special people!
