Very Nice Stay; Minimal Perks for Bonvoy Elites

FJVLS (Yorktown, Virginia) on Dec 14, 2024

We spent a two-nights, mid-week, We're Marriott loyalists, and infrequent Vegas visitors. Overall, this is a very nice property. Per others' reviews, Marriott loyalty doesn't provide much for perks--certainly less than at a Marriott property. That said, Cosmo delivered what was advertised when we booked; no more and no less. We booked a fountain view terrace room, and were in the Boulevard Tower. Pro's: - We found the room large, clean, and modern. The balcony is nice (probably much nicer during warmer weather). We also appreciated the second mini-fridge so that we could keep some cold drinks. - For us, a truly great location. Very central to the Strip. We liked proximity to Miracle Miles Shops, so that when we tired of resort priced food, we had some options nearby. Walgreens across the street for pre-game materials is handy too. - While quite large, it is not quite so overwhelmingly large as many Strip properties. For us, that's a plus. A bit of room to improve: - So this is where we think Marriott status (Titanium) could be worth more than just the points. If one wishes early check-in, we found the desk very firm on $50. So that means the room was available. We noted we would not be using late check out and sought to "trade" that perk for a couple hours on the front end. To use a Vegas phrase "no dice." - The resort fee is transparent at booking. Our critique is the resort fee concept remains insulting to guests, and apparently exists solely so that points stays end up paying cash. (We were on a paid stay, not points). Just add the price to the room. At least in December when it is not pool weather, there really isn't anything attributable to a "resort" that you obtain for the fee. Other notes: - The fountain show at Bellagio runs about 2.5 minutes. Decide if that is worth a bit more for a room. (Currently the sidewalk in front of Bellagio is closed to the public). - There was a bit of noise from The Strip, but not enough to impact our sleep. - Not our style, yet for fancy dress-up people, there are some pretty cool bars and restaurants on the property. We'll definitely give Cosmo a look for our next trip. Not quite a slam dunk, yet on the short list

Vibrant Atmosphere, But Falls Short on Value and Dining

harrisond1919 (Fort Nelson, Canada) on Dec 14, 2024

We recently stayed at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for five nights and overall had a great experience, though there were a few aspects that left us wishing for more. The highlights of our stay were definitely the fun and lively vibe of the resort. The casino floor had an energy that made it an exciting place to spend time, and the unique speakeasy bars tucked away within the resort were such a fun surprise—they added an extra layer of charm and adventure to our evenings. The location is another standout feature; being centrally situated on the Strip made it easy to explore other attractions and resorts. Checking in and out was also a breeze, which was a nice start and end to our trip. Secret Pizza was a highlight for sure, even with a line the service was quick most nights. However, there were a few areas where we felt The Cosmopolitan fell short. While the rooms were clean and stylish, they felt smaller and less luxurious than we expected for a resort of this caliber. Pricing was another concern—everything from dining to drinks seemed noticeably more expensive compared to nearby resorts, which led us to venture outside for meals more often than we’d anticipated. Additionally, the dining options on-site felt somewhat limited, especially given the variety offered at other properties on the Strip. Overall, The Cosmopolitan is a great choice if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, creative bar experiences, and a prime location. But if room size, on-site dining variety, or budget are major factors for you, it might be worth considering other options. We’d still recommend it for the unique experience it offers but with some reservations depending on your priorities.

Many issues with room, sewage smell in hallway

VerifiedReviewer2000 on Dec 13, 2024

I booked “Terrace Studio Two Queen Beds Fountain View”. The view from the balcony is amazing! Unfortunately, the good ends there. There were quite a few issues with the room. The foyer light never worked. The shower water temperature was difficult to adjust to desired level. The room was fairly dark even when the ceiling light was on. On the last night of my stay, there was a strong sewage smell in the hallway. My room didn’t smell that bad, but I had to hold my breath walking back and forth from the elevator. Front desk unable to print folio upon check out, they said system was down, tho the folio is still not delivered to me 2 days later. I think this will be a one off for me, Cosmo just has too many pesky issues.

Don’t waste your money

Summer C on Dec 12, 2024

Just arrived at the Cosmo! Terrible check in as nothing was explained to us. Took us 20 minutes with all of our luggage’s to find our tower and then room. Nobody offered to assist. We asked for a quiet fountain view room and the guy at check in said we’re staying too many days to be able to get that (we paid for a wraparound terrace suite). The room smells like cigarette smoke. The AC makes a very loud noise so we cannot use it. Stay somewhere where you will be treated better! We will do our best to change accommodations and go to a more luxury hotel.
