Circa Scans Your Drivers License For Entry
Chuck S on Apr 01, 2025
On March 31 my wife and I attempted to enter Circa after having gambled at Four Queens and Golden Nugget. We were met by security and asked to show our drivers licenses. We’re both in our 70’s so validatin...g our age seemed ridiculous. The security person said “we let people enter without bias”. But apparently without common sense. When I asked why he needed to scan our drivers licenses he said “how do I know you didn’t steal something from us last week”. Really? This was devolving into a Saturday Night Live sketch. Imagine if every casino scanned your license in order to gain entry. I’m not comfortable with that and won’t be back. In this age of true person fraud and any number of scams, allowing documents with personally identifiable information to be scanned is problematic to say the least. Had I known they were going to scan my license I never would have shown it to begin with. We’re on vacation, we’re not applying for a bank financing.
Best Hotel Downtown

My wife and I stayed at Circa at the end of March and we had the best time. From the moment we arrived a bellhop unloaded our luggage and took it inside. Check-In was quick and our room was ready when we a...rrived. Once we got to our room, a bellhop arrived shortly after with our bags and carried them into our room. This is a 21 and older resort so be prepared to show your ID every time you want to enter from the outside. This is not a big deal and it's nice to have a 21+ property that strictly enforces this. The resort is laid out very nicely and never felt overcrowded. The casino is on two floors and though it's not the largest casino you'll find downtown, it offers everything you could want. They offer a nice selection of restaurants from casual dining to upscale. If you like to bet on sports, you'll love the sports book here and the screen is massive with the ability to watch almost every game that is playing. The Legacy Club is located on the roof and offers great views of Las Vegas with a nice selection of handmade cocktails and drinks. I would suggest making a reservation and a business casual dress code is enforced. Stadium Swim is their pool and it is amazing. They have 6 pools that are heated and open year round, along with two decent sized hot tubs. There are plenty of lounge seats available and you can rent daybeds or cabanas for extra money. The massive television screen here is amazing and you can watch almost any sports event currently airing. They also have a live DJ that plays throughout the day and night. There were only a couple minor things we noticed that might be an issue for some people. First, if you are someone that likes having their room cleaned by room service everyday, you might want to speak with them about possibly getting to your room early. There were many instances where we returned to our room later in the afternoon and our room had still not been cleaned. This was not a major issue for us and we asked for more towels and complimentary water and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us with that. Second, we had a king room with a stadium swim view. Stadium Swim is open from 8 a.m to 11 p.m and they play music the entire time. You won't hear the music but you will definitely hear and feel the bass in your room. If you are someone that likes to relax or nap in your room during the afternoon or evening, you might find this annoying and I would suggest getting a room that doesn't face stadium swim. Overall, our experience at Circa was wonderful and we loved our stay. The room was clean and modern. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was large with great water pressure and the water was always hot. This resort could easily be located on the strip and it would do quite well. Fortunately it's located downtown and is exactly what we were looking for. This is going to be our go to place to stay when visiting Las Vegas.
Just No

I played blackjack -- to even get in there you need an ID. I must say this was my worst blackjack experience in my entire life. The dealer got 21 almost always. The owner of Club One Hotels tries to p...resent himself as wholesome. The whole place has an evil vibe.
Not My Cup of Tea

Great Location for Downtown! We had two rooms for five nights. Rooms were clean and felt new. The casino property feels like a Junior High School in the way its managed. Everytime you leave and come back y...ou most stand in line to show your drivers license to re-enter even the hotel. At 65 this is annoying at best. Pool security is unfriendly. Table minimums were the highest I saw in Downtown. Barry's Downtonw Prime Steakhouse is the best thing about this casino. We spent almost all of our gambling time next door at the Golden Nugget. I would definitely stay at the Golden Nugget but never would consider Circa again unless the managment changes. If you want to stay on Freemont, The Golden Nuggett is way ahead of Circa. It's not even close.
Checkout and Valet is a nightmare

Checkout was a nightmare. If you have a rental car and want valet, don’t stay here. Two separate companies and early they make you take your bags across the street to get your car. They don’t bring you yo...ur car, valet? The counter manager can only tell you it’s separate department. It’s not to me as a guest. To my point, I will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS VERY POORLY Managed RESORT.
