Long time Vegas visitor, not returning

(In their defense there was a huge labor strike happening in front of the hotel) That said, I think they should have emailed their reservations to advise them of that. These people had bullhorns and loud speakers blasting into the parking structure and hotel 24 hours a day! The good: the robes were nice but you had to call and ask for them. Parking is free. They have several Tesla chargers. Nice view towards the airport if you’re into plan watching. Free ice. The bad: quite a bit. The food at their 24 hour diner was so salty, you couldn’t eat it. The food at the Italian restaurant was good but very expensive. The towels are not good….they are thread bare and look over used. Nothing in the room worked properly. The light dimmers did not work and the lights were so bright we ended up turning the lights off most of the time. The plug in the vanity did not work. We asked for maintenance. They never came. There was mold in the shower and none of the maids understood any of our requests. None of the furniture made sense - they have a “dresser”in the bedroom that has no drawers and doesn’t open…strange! There was some sort of shortage on glasses. We only had two clean glasses for a four day stay. I ended up taking glasses from the casino up to our room. The room service was not available at this time, which had we have known before we came, we would not have stayed there. Also, the refer and mini bar on the credenza are weighted, you can touch anything and there is no room to store any food in the refer. We did not use the pool because it was December and cold. Using the video check out was difficult and I never received a bill via email. I eventually contacted the hotel to receive a bill. The rideshare parking is off the front past the valet, and you stand outside with no heaters. The location is close to UNLV but you wouldn’t walk, the area is not great and everywhere you want to go is a $15 or more cab ride. The resort fees are way too high for what you get.
Some improvement needed to get the basics right

I really wanted to love it….. But I didn’t. :-( The location is fairly far from the Strip and happens to be at the end of the airport runway, so noise is fairly significant when outside and Ubers are required every time you want to go somewhere (although no noise when indoors). This isn’t the hotels fault, it’s mine for not doing my research properly. I didn’t feel the hotel offered the unique virgin experience you come to expect. Just because it has a Virgin sign, doesn’t make it any different to any other hotel in LV. The two disappointing aspects. 1. No room service offered, despite the hyper technical setup on the tv. I feel like they’ve gone one step further than most hotels with offering steaming services, on request items such as Laundry through the tv but completely forgotten (or intentionally left off) the basics people expect such as room service. 2. No tea or coffee offered in the room. This really is a must for most people. No one wants to wake up and hike down to Dunkin Donuts for their first coffee in the morning. I get the in house revenue but this point alone would make me stay somewhere else in future. The hotel was very quiet when I stayed, and hardly one person on the casino floor. I hope they do stick around, but things need to change if they want to find their place in the competitive LV market.
