Although my experience was not perfect Maria at the front desk turn that around so quickly she was so helpful, and genuinely caring she made me feel taken care of during my time in Hawaii. All the staff I ...interacted with was kind and helpful. Thank you!!!
Amazing oceanfront hotel with a must-try chicken wings!!

I had a great stay at this hotel with friendly and accommodating staff who made everything easy and enjoyable. The pool is alright, but the beach is fantastic, though it can get very crowded, so finding ch...airs can be a bit challenging. The hotel’s central location is perfect, with waterfalls, shopping, and other attractions all just a short drive away. A special shoutout to the bar’s chicken wings—they are an absolute must-have! So flavorful, with a delicious spicy kick that honestly makes them my new favorite. The room’s oceanfront view was lovely, and the gym is spacious with modern equipment. Plus, parking is convenient and free. Definitely a place I’d recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Pros: Beautiful grounds alongside a shorefront path, but not so close people were looking into your oceanfront room; nice pool with a large hot tub; shell lei greet...ing; staff t bar were very helpful when I wanted a cup of tea with milk at 5 pm and ran all over the resort to get it for me; luau on-property so no need for a DD if you want to attend and drink mai tais. Cons: Staff at front desk were overwhelmed if there were more than two guests checking in, with loud walkie talkie going so you couldn’t hear them (the guy kind of threw the shell leis at me and I had to put them on everybody, but whatever); not enough chairs at the pool; worst of all, sketchy housekeeping that resulted in me finding a large clump of hair on the grab bar IN THE SHOWER. I was so horrified I got dressed and took it straight to the front desk with a picture of it. They took the resort fee off my room but IMHO that did not really make up for it. Luckily we were only there one night as neither of us were getting in the shower again, but at $500 night that was really not ok!
A SUITE stay

We just got back from our second stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. And this visit was even better than our first. It started before check in. My husband called to make sure we didn't get a f...irst floor oceanfront room. MICAH was amazing!!! He was so charming when my husband told him we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary. He said he hadn't even been alive that long (LOL) When we arrived we found out he not only didn't put us on the first floor he UPGRADED us to a SUITE! We were shocked to say the least. The suite was beautiful!!! The wet room (shower with tub) was off the charts!!!! Two lanis with the most awesome views. We left both lanai doors open the whole tiime it was so amazing to hear the ocean night and day. The bed was comfy although the pillows tend to get really flat folding them helped. The shower was lovely but lacked a place to put my own shampoo and bar of soap, but my husband enjoyed the selection in the shower dispensers. Hand soap in a pump was also a welcome sight on the bathroom vanity which keep from having to wipe up messy bars soap residue. A double vanity was also a huge bonus. Two closets with shoe rack kept our luggage organized and easily accessed. The microwave and refridgerator were bonuses too and a dining room table for eight was perfect to drop all our daily stuff on. Two huge tvs were also nice but we didn't use them, we were in Hawaii, no tv needed. The resort is gorgeous. The games out on the front lawn were great for down time as were the hammocks and chairs. We didn't use the pool but it looked like others enjoyed it. The access to beach chairs and umbrellas was so nice and let us enjoy our favorite beaches in comfort. The bikes were a blast and we rode more than once down the whole 5.1 mile trail and back for a great 10.2 mile workout...just beautiful. We enjopyed the music at CROOKED SURF, and revisited our favorite artist on Saturday night with dinner and drinks. The fish tacos were really good as were the nachos and mai tais. If you are there on a Saturday, check out DARLENE SASIL from 5:30-7:30 she's awsome!!!! Coffee at First Light was great try the UBE latte. The whole resort was kept very very clean as was our room and I'm a clean freak. Such a great vacation we will be back again next year. Don't hesitate to stay here one bit. We have traveled all the Hawaiian islands extensively (25+ visits) and this is our favorite island and resort!!! Thank you MICAH and the whole staff at the SKCBR. You made this anniversary so memorable. And MICAH some day I hope someone treats you and your significant other with the kindness you showed us!!! Thank you! Jill and Vince
Perfect Stay - Centrally Located, Fantastic Staff & Nice Amenities

Since we would be exploring the entire island, we wanted to stay in a central location where we had to flexibility to go wherever we'd like based on the weather for the day (it can be sunny in the south a...nd rainy in the north). This location was perfect for that. This property did not disappoint! The staff was outstanding - so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They offered great suggestions for activities and local dining (not as plentiful as in Poipu or North Shore, but again, we knew that going in and being centrally located was more important for us). Every day, we were able to borrow beach chairs, mats, umbrella, and a cooler for the day (what a fantastic benefit!). And the staff was eager to help load and unload everything from our car. The pool and hot tub were great and open late, which was perfect since there isn't much nightlife on the island. The pool deck area is beautiful with plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas. Loved the ambiance! The restaurant/bar and game room are right on the deck, and the beachfront has Appalachian chairs, umbrellas and hammocks. While it is not a swimmable beach, there is a beautiful, paved coastal path that winds along the shore for a few miles. Perfect for a walk or bike ride. Our room was spacious, very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. Shower was fantastic. There was also sufficient drawer and closet space. We chose a garden view room since we knew we wouldn't be in the room that much, and we were lucky with a room that had a small ocean view. The only issue we had was the parking on the nights of the luau. The main lot would be completely filled so we'd have to use either the overflow lot near the luau (why not designate that as the parking lot for the luau guests?) or a smaller paved lot on the right side of the building which had the narrowest parking spots. Someone boxed me in and the only way I could get in our car was through the passenger side and climb over. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and if we return and decide to stay in Kapa'a, we would stay here again without hesitation. Perfect size, location, nice amenities and fantastic staff.
