Don't stay if you need to do any work (wifi awful!) or value cleanliness.

Wifi is abysmal, we've tried on ~9 devices and it's totally random if any will connect. You can't even pay to upgrade as you only get the upgrade screen once you manage to connect. Went to the "business ce...nter" (a loooong walk from the hotel!) to try to get some work done one morning - open from 7am and the wifi is only for conference guests. Front desk utterly unhelpful on any of this, it's all outsourced. Stay if the parks and early entry (which only really helps for Hagrid's, everything else you could just buy an express pass for), but not if checking email, Netflix, or any work is important to you. Oh, and when we arrived a previous family's food was left in the drawer in the kids room (which has no bathroom of its own, so I hope you're a close family!). We were in the Jurassic World room, which the kids enjoyed for a few minutes upon arrival. The sushi did not taste fresh despite us seeing them making it, and oh wow, the meals here will the most expensive and non-remarkable of your entire vacation. Wonder how fast they'll see this review, we leave in 2 days.
If Only the Rooms Were Nice and Bright and not Dreary and Dark

While this resort has a few great things going for it - very close location and lovely walkway/water boat ride to Universal City Walk and parks, express pass for the theme parks, nice lobby area and bar, t...he rooms look nothing like the photos. Dark dingy hallways lead to dark dingy rooms. The pool area is large with no issues finding a spot to sit with great service for good drinks and food. I ended up walking to the Starbucks at Universal City Walk every day as the Tuk shop offerings for a quick breakfast or lunch could be a lot better.
