Convenient but underwhelming

Nice hotel and convenient if visiting Universal parks especially EPIC as it's connected by a walking path. The first night the air conditioner in our room wouldn't cool and we were moved to another room. S...ince the hotel had only been open a few weeks they were still working out the bugs in the system. There is a café and market but no other eating options nearby. The café food is like a school cafeteria only more expensive. The market did have good coffee options.
A wonderful hotel and park experience.

My wife booked this hotel for a treat during our holiday with family who live 90 minutes south of Orlando. Staying overnight allowed us to purchase preview tickets to the new Universal Studios Epic theme p...ark. We set out early and got to the hotel by 8am, we went straight to reception to collect our room keys and pay for the room (pre-booked) and our park tickets. We were told that we would receive an email in the afternoon with our room number. We were able to board a shuttle bus outside the hotel directly to the park (review to be written). On our return to the hotel we still hadn’t received any email regarding our room number. My wife spoke to reception and there was a little confusion over our English bank card, this was soon sorted and our room did not disappoint. My wife is extremely good at checking the internet for deals and bargains. Prices fluctuate day to day depending upon time of year, time of week and length of stay. Total cost for the hotel and park was $305 plus overnight parking at the hotel.
Awful Check in and customer service

Be careful booking this resort. Check in is at 4 BUT IS NOT GUARANTEED!!! They may give you your room anywhere from 4 o'clock on. We were not given our room until 7pm. The hotel didn't not care that we had... an event to go to. They over book so much that they can'y handle the turn around. No "we are sorry "is offered or any token of regret.
Friendly staff and clean resort

A great hotel with friendly staff. Our room was clean and smelt fresh. There was plenty of space for us to spread out. We had no problems during our stay. Enjoyed the overall theme and ambiance of the reso...rt. Everything worked as expected. For the value, it met our expectations.
Would def stay again.

First visit. Universal AP holders. Husband and myself. Stayed in several other Uni hotels. Only open just under a month so went into it with open mind. Picked for 1 night for price/ease, as we were going t...o be shopping in Orlando all day then Winter Garden the next. Also we weren’t going to Epic on Easter…..just needed a place to stay night. Positives: beautiful outside. property clean. literally Epic is across street. can see from window of room. inside minimal but tasteful. space themed but not corny. moon. (luna) staff friendly. food was better than others we’ve stayed in. although only around 25 tables, they were being wiped down by staff a lot. self serve pick your beverage machines. resort mugs. If you order a regular drink, it is good for refills for one hour while you are in the dining area. So that was nice. We did notice people using that, however, to fill up their large personal mugs so they would not have to pay. Not sure that can be controlled. Our phone GPS took us right to it. Room very spacious and loved color vibe. had everything you’d need except micro. that’s in dining area. great shower pressure. hot water too. buses go to all parks. pool area looked beautiful. tons of chairs. a bar. a hot tub. movie shown each night on a screen. can see from pool or deck side. life guards. swim jackets for kids. standing “rinse first “shower by hot tub. well lit at night. lots of seating outside to eat. umbrellas etc. gift shop l w/ sundries and decent souvenirs from epic park. negatives: not many. but. had to speak to mgr (Nathan) re kids in hot tub w/ floats, beach ball, long boogie /surf board, noodles…. sign there says no kid under 12 without adult. it’s 104. no child should be in it. period. it’s not a pool for your kids bc the regular pools “too cold”. it’s heated. no drinks supposed to be in /around it.there were. after a long day, I was really looking forward once I saw the hot tub, to just sitting on the side and putting my feet in. But that was not able to happen because of all the kids smashing around and drinks literally surrounding the wet deck. In my opinion, this is unsafe and unacceptable as a hot tub should be for adults, not children period. mobile/online check-in is pointless unless there’s a separate que to check in. Had to wait in the regular line with everyone else, which doesn’t make any sense. The other Universal hotels have a mobile check in separate line or a kiosk. not many handicap parking spaces so we were told to use a handicap spot in the short term parking If there was not one. That however wouldn’t help anyone who needed that to check in, they might need to actually put some more handicap places out front. We would def stay again . Universal is great about having good deals so I would stay again.
