The resort and staff at Iberostar Playa Mita make the whole trip wonderful. At the prestige area, J Carlos is always ready to make the cabana perfect and Eduardo makes the best drinks. The first day he shared his gin colada and the next it was a delicious take on the mojito. So healthy! Candy and Emmanuel in the prestige desk work hard to ensure a great trip. Pedro makes wonderful drinks for our evening enjoyment. Tania at the Start Cafe is a delight every morning. The room is bright and clean every day. We love coming here.

Although we’ve been to Iberostar Playa Mita many, many times, this trip was especially great in part because of Carlos and Edison at the Rooftop Prestige Area of the resort. Because of those two hard working and ambitious young men, our days were beyond perfection. Beginning with our favorite palapa being made ready each morning so we would have nothing else on our busy to do list other than lounging in the pool to our favorite drinks waiting upon our return from the pool. Yes, it’s a hard life but thanks to Carlos the main concierge and Edison our bartender our days were wonderful. Thanks to both!

What an amazing time as always at Iberostar, this time at Playa Mita! We were there for a bunch of friends (in couples) trip, and it was a hoot. The location is spectacular with sweeping views of the pacific sprinkled with all sorts of local flora and fauna (we saw armadillos, iguanas, albatross, pelicans, turtles, to name a few), tastefully adorned with seaside decor. The site is undergoing construction of new properties but is away from the beaten path so not disruptive. The service - oh the service! - is what makes our trips so special, and this time was no different with the help of the amazing team. Edison and Juan Carlos at the Star Prestige rooftop made me feel like I was coming to hang out with my best friends; Luis and Armando did a fantastic job not only overseeing their respective kitchen and bar operations, but didn’t miss a beat in offering exceptional, personalized hospitality; Emmanuel called me when he somehow found out I was sick in my hotel room to offer special made chicken noodle soup; Karla and Pedro rocked my world with their fantastic mixology and show of knowledge; and Tanya, Miguel, and Kandy always greeted me with a contagious smile and friendliness at the members lounge that reverberates all around the resort from the housekeeping team to the groundskeepers. And did I mention the amazing, talented team of technicians at the spa??? I can’t believe I’ve memorized this many staff names at a resort, but it’s easy when they make everything so personalized. Thank you the the team at Playa Mita for an unforgettable time!

This resort was a complete disaster! From the moment we arrived and I saw they had everyone’s luggage outside I knew something was not right. We checked in and there was no one to guide you or explain where to find your room. I finally was able to find my room and the floors were completely wet! The entire room was moist and there was no AC! I tried to call the front desk multiple times and I never got an answer. My daughter who is 8 years old fell in the room due to the floors being wet and there was no warning sign. The bathroom had pubic hair and the shower had sand. I went to the lunch buffet which was DISGUSTING! They had no AC, no server offered water/drinks, the alcohol they had tasted gross, there were flies over the food, limited options and it was so hot in there that everyone was drenched in sweat. My family and I checked out the same day because it was unbearable. As my family and I raised our concerns the manager was dismissive and rude. DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT YOU WILL REGRET IT! We ended up going to Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa Riviera Nayarit which was a 10/10!

Family and friends had a horrible experience. They were there for only a few hours and immediately checked out. The rooms had no AC, some rooms had pubic hairs in the bathroom, multiple people fell due to wet floors. There was no one available to answer the phone to talk to them about this and make a formal complaint. I tried to cancel before I showed up and they still charged me a no show policy fee despite multiple attempts on my end to reach out. They eventually stopped responding to my emails despite my request to talk with a Supervisor. If I could give this resort negative stars and points I would. Stay Away!!!
