Great staff

Great staff, Oscar and Cristian were awesome and greeted us with a smile whenever we left and returned to the hotel. Miguel Angel at the restaurant made us feel so special, he knew what we wanted before we even asked. The staff at this resort were all top notch. The resort was clean, it was small, definitely a family friendly place.

Do not go here if you are a globalist!

SALVADOR G on Dec 24, 2024

I had an absolutely horrendous experience at Sunscape Puerto Vallarta, and I strongly advise any Hyatt Globalist to steer clear if you expect to enjoy the benefits of your status. This property not only failed to meet the most basic expectations but also embarrassed me in front of my family. Upon arrival, I was denied check-in at the VIP desk, even after consulting with the front desk manager. This alone might not have been a big issue, except that the front desk couldn’t find my paperwork because, ironically, it was at the VIP desk. I booked two rooms and, knowing Globalist benefits aren’t guaranteed for the second room, I went above and beyond by applying a Guest of Honor award to ensure benefits for my in-laws. Despite this, the property outright refused to extend those benefits. After pleading, they begrudgingly gave an upgrade for the second room, but that was it. There were no other benefits—no lounge access, no room service, no stocked mini fridge, no top-shelf alcohol, and no access to private VIP areas. These are all standard Globalist benefits that should also apply to a Guest of Honor booking. I had assured my in-laws that these benefits were part of their stay, only to be humiliated when they were denied. To add insult to injury, I gifted a lounge access award to my sister-in-law, yet the property refused to honor that as well. This entire experience was embarrassing and frustrating, and I deeply regret spending my money and awards here. Despite winning a free stay at this very property during their New Year’s raffle for 2024, I chose to pay for this stay to ensure my family could enjoy the benefits of my Globalist status. That decision was a waste. I would strongly recommend choosing another Hyatt property—or better yet, a Marriott—if you value good service, respect for loyalty, or a pleasant vacation experience.

Would not return ever again.

Andrea G on Dec 23, 2024

The service, drinks, and food are absolutely terrible. The room we were put in was disgusting. The linens were stained and hair was left on them. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed in ages. I wish I would have taken pictures. The rooms SMELLED like the drainage system and there was a bug as soon as we got there (granted it happens sometimes). The air conditioning sucks and barely keeps the room cool. The food wasn’t good and neither were the drinks. If you have issues with the hotel and the booking process, especially if you’re coming from out of state, good luck trying to resolve any banking issues. Room service is not provided unless you are VIP. If you’re going to need extra linens make sure you let them know HOURS ahead because you’ll most likely not get them for hours. The cafe they have is amazing, the coffee and snacks are delicious. The pool tiles are coming off so beware of that to avoid cutting yourself. You also cannot eat around the pool (first time we’ve come across that rule). You are not allowed to take towels provided for the pool/beach to the rooms. The pool also closes fairly early (7pm) and the water in the kids play area is cold. Elevators also get really crowded and can be a bit of a pain. We only came to this hotel because family had their wedding here.
