We were forced to change rooms in the middle of our trip

Due to a "maintenance concern", the hotel concierge forced us to switch rooms in the middle of our trip. We had to pack all our stuff, relocate to a different room, and unpack again. It cost us at least one evening of our trip and we were offered nothing in compensation for the inconvenience...not a free night, not a spa visit, not even a bottle of wine. All they did was give us a different room in a different building. We were insulted by the lack of consideration by the staff. It soured the whole trip for us. That said, resort-wise: - Activities are VERY repetitive...everything up through ~5 PM is identical every day, right down to the playlist...serious F grade here. Nightlife is practically nonexistent after ~9-10 PM. Though the Michael Jackson show was phenomenal. So D- - Food was really good, but it's really really hard to find fast eats in the morning. The buffet has lines to get in and lines for all the food stations...nothing is grab and go. B+ here - The Spa experience is second to none, A+ - The water park was a pleasant surprise for adults...we don't have kids, but still enjoyed it, A- - Loved the one-eyed cat bar...bartenders in there have skillz, A+ - We found the Ziva side to be a bit more active/happening...it's also a shame most of the amenities are over there...such as the sports bar and the boats/kayaks/etc - Some of the pool bartenders were a bit surly, but most of the service staff were friendly, language barrier was a bit rough at times...not a ton of good English speakers, B- Honestly, I doubt I would have come back anyways, because the repetitiveness and lack of nightlife bored us by the end of the trip. But the forced room switch just clinched it. Never again.

The best resort my wife and I have ever been to! The service was friendly and accommodating especially my man Alexander! Best butler ever! Food at every restaurant was delicious and quick to come out, we went to dinner late and never had to wait in a line around 8/9pm. Pool and bar staff were on POINT, leruoy at the Zilara pool bar was the man! Room maids were very friendly and left our rooms CLEAN as hell multiple times a day. I can’t rave about this place enough. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to spend our honey moon. Thank you to the staff for making our week amazing. Our next resort stay will definitely be at a Hyatt location and will be back to cap Cana Zilara in the next few years. If you’re wondering if this is the right place, it is. Book it and enjoy.
