Barcelo Maya Palace!

I would’ve rated the hotel a 5 if it weren’t for the check-in time. It took us 2hrs 20mins to check-in and 2hrs alone was standing in line negotiating and trying to entertain a 4yr old. NOT FUN!This was our 4th time visiting and check-in is their weakness but this time was by far the most agonizing experience. Besides that, we absolutely loved the resort(s). They have awesome pools for adults and kids. Restaurants; The Palace has the best buffets based on quality and variety. Our favorite restaurant reservations were at the French- Brasserie and Brazilian- Rodizio. Phenomenal food and service!!

This is my 2nd time here because I loved it so much the first time. After the lengthy check in we got to our room and I saw reddish brown marks on the glass bathroom door. I washed it off and realized it was probably blood. I go to put my sons insulin in the refrigerator and it is hot in there. I called to have it checked out but no one came. We kept filling the ice bucket to keep it cold. We crashed because we were exhausted. When I woke up I noticed a red stain on my sheets so I checked them all out and there were a total of 5 spots of what I think is blood. I ripped them off and requested all new bedding (which I had to remind them multiple times). To top it all off the toilet upstairs was leaking into our toilet area and there was water all over the bathroom floor. I told them about this one morning before an excursion and when we got back nothing was done. I told them again one morning and at almost 10pm we are sleeping because we have an early excursion we get a call to pack up and move rooms which was such a hassle that they waited this long. Our new room was better but I will never come back here due to customer service.
