Almost great, but some serious investment in the elevators is required
670alistairs (Dubrovnik, Croatia) on Mar 26, 2025
Great location and friendly staff. The bay views from the room were great, and the pool was nice. However, at times none of the elevators were working so we had to wait in a long line for the service eleva...tor. Considering the cost of the hotel, I was expecting better. The food from OneMart was also eye-wateringly expensive (e.g. $10 for a granola bar) and the menu outside was different from the actual menu. The room was nice, but was a little dated and shabby in places.
There are issues

There are issues at this property Elevators break down frequently. We had to take the service elevator to our room multiple times. (It was a topic of conversation among the guests in club lounge & lobby.... Many guests mentioned having the same thing happen during previous stays) The elevators are digital & confusing. Reaching the Grand Club took multiple elevators rides even though we were in same tower. (If you are in a lower floor room in Harbor Tower you have to ride down to lobby & change to a different bank of elevators to then ride back up to Grand club. It is a terrible design. Bell service is terrible. We checked in late at night. It was not busy. After getting our key, the bell staff was no where to be found. After waiting over 10 minutes at inside bell desk I found our luggage still outside unattended. I Ended up wheeling the cart up to our room myself. On check out the bellmen stood around talking to each other and watched me load up our luggage into a car. Besides the view our room was unimpressive & in need of several repairs. We have top level status with Hyatt & travel to San Diego frequently. I have had nothing short of incredible service at the Andaz, LJ Hyatt, Misson Bay, & the Park Hyatt in North County. The Manchester was a disappointment and seemed like a low catagory Hyatt Regency not a Grand Hyatt. Service & Value are severly lacking at this property.
