Don’t stay here
Exploration319879 (Chicago, Illinois) on Dec 07, 2024
No individualized ac or heat or fan unless you want to stay on floor 2 in small room with parking lot view. Not safe. Intentionally leave this off the website so you book, then they offer you a bad room for the same price when you are already there. Fan turns on and off on its own all night. Rooms smell and very worn. Boxed over soaking tubs so you can’t use them. Not a four star hotel more like a 2 star with old carpet and furniture and no air flow. Have no issue with misrepresentation on the website and act like they are doing you a favor to offer to cancel your reservation and won’t honor your rate at other Hyatts knowing you would have to pay to book anywhere last minute. If they had it on the website that there is no individual ac or heat or fan except in rooms floor 2 or lower and small ones, I would have booked somewhere else and I’m guessing a lot of others would have too.
Stylish & Safe place to stay

Loved the design, style & location. Appreciated being able to make a last minute reservation & that I was able to charge my electric rental car. Wish my trip was longer so I could've spend more time in the lobby and outdoor space. Enjoyed a drink at the bar, the lobby vibe and plants.
Not thrilled.

Hotel lobby, bar/breakfast area are very nice which is what really makes the experience, however the rooms are worn and disappointing. Strange bathroom with much wasted space. The gym is great. Largest we have seen in a hotel with area for yoga.
DAILY EXTRA CHARGE OF $40.69 PER NIGHT!
James O (San Diego, California) on Nov 29, 2024
You should know the nightly rate listed for the hotel room does not include a DAILY “DESTINATION FEE” OF $35.00 PLUS $5.69 TAX FOR A TOTAL OF $40.69! When I inquired about this at the front desk, I was told this is for in-room coffee and tea and use of the fitness center, which almost all hotels provide as part of the cost of the room. In addition, there are regional discounts for useless things like $10 off a rental car company I’ve never heard of and reduced charges for a big bus sightseeing tour which we would never be interested in. If you aren’t already disgusted by this junk fee, the hotel tacked on a $1.00 donation on my behalf to the Japantown business district. Never asked me, just added it to my bill. Hotel Kabuki should simply roll the “destination fee” into their room rate to allow prospective customers to easily compare costs when deciding where to stay. So many Americans are being cheated this way that the Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule to bar businesses like Hotel Kabuki from doing so. Shame on Hotel Kabuki for taking advantage of people!
Nice Hotel

Nice and clean. Wish they had around clock valet parking. Staff were nice and attentive when asked to have a higher floor. They did it without problem. The hotel is right next door to Japan town. It has many restaurants. Although it under renovation right now, but businesses are open.
