My husband and I stay at the Beacon Grand a couple of times a year. We have been there during the Christmas Holiday this year and last. It is very convenient to Union Square. It is a beautiful building in the old style of San Francisco. While a couple of the rooms we stayed in were not spacious, they were well laid out and very comfortable. The staff are remarkably friendly and helpful. The dining room (the Post Room) is beauttiful, the service is friendly, and the food is great. The Starlight Room has recently gotten an amazing facelift. It is stunning, not just the incredible room, but the attention to the furnishings, the bar, the decor, even the napkins and barware. I enjoy the hotel everytime we go there.

This was my second stay and my new favorite SF hotel. The history is wonderful and the post room and starlite room exude old San Francisco glamour. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, friendly staff, and great location. My daughter, sister and I stayed in a high floor double room and it was spacious and quiet.

This superb hotel has beautifully decorated rooms. It is ideally located in the heart of San Francisco, with everything within walking distance. The hotel feels like private property, not belonging to a large chain. The Skylight bar at the top, with an exceptional view, is the best in the city. The staff was an absolute pleasure to interact with. The housekeeper responded promptly and graciously when I requested an extra coffee pod. By the way, their coffee machines are among the best I’ve ever used—you can brew multiple cups back-to-back without any waiting time. This was one of the rare occasions where my wife and I could both enjoy our hot coffee together.

The reason for the visit was a company party at the hotel. Unfortunately, the employees of the Mariott Hotel in the immediate neighbourhood have been on strike for three months, causing noise with megaphones every day from 7am to 10pm. Not the fault of the Beacon Grand, on the contrary. But: The windows of the Beacon Grand are just as unfashionable as the rest of the hotel and let all the noise through. So if you have a room to the side of the Mariott Hotel, you can't use the room from 7am to 10pm. I liked the nice staff, the room service, the nice bar on the ground floor and the location directly on the Cable Car Tramway.

Lovely hotel in San Francisco. Staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Location was very central right in union square. Unfortunately we had a water leak in our room which wet the bed! Staff ensured it would be fixed. The next night the leak was worse. After no sleep and a wet bed My family and I checked out early and cut our stay in SF short. Despite this, the hotel is a very lovely and grand place to stay in SF The lobby bar makes great margaritas!
