Just right for a simple vacation

Penny S on May 05, 2025

Good all inclusive trip that provided an amazing beach, plenty of waterfront seating and good pool. The beach bar was fully stocked and service was fast! The grounds were very nicely kept and easy to get ...from room to restaurants. Shuttle was prompt when traveling to and from the Blue Haven sister resort. Blue Haven has limited beach and chairs. The infinity pool is very beautiful especially at night. Great fire pits and comfortable group seating (couches and chairs). Entertainment at both resorts was fun. Food choices were good and they did not give such huge portions that you’d feel like you were wasting food. Solid breakfast buffet with our favorite server- Miliane. She is super sweet and very accommodating. Dinner reservations were easy by visiting the ladies outside of ASU at the desk. Did not grab their names but they are very helpful and explained everything when making an excursion. We were happy to know that you could charge it to our room. Food options were great and the best chef wal Silia at the Irie Bites-she was so personal and her jerk chicken and ribs were cooked perfectly every time! Fish Deck was our go to and Andres was so sweet to make our 30th anniversary special by sending sparkling wine to our table. We got orange juice at the beach and made our own mimosas in the afternoon. All the servers were professional. Jordan was our last server and was a little shy but very nice! Front desk workers were very professional-Mark and Donisse (spelling ??) were pleasant. They kept their composure even though some guest were rude to them when their water was temporarily down in one building. Maintenance worked very hard to get it working. Overall, it was wonderful not to have to worry about paying a bill or thinking hard about where to find food. The coffee bar was excellent and had boozy coffee as well. We would recommend for a simple peaceful retreat with good atmosphere and activity choices.

Alexandra Turks and Caicos Honest Review

Isaiah B (Kansas City, Missouri) on May 03, 2025

Alexandra Review April 28th - May 4th The drinks -bars -The bars do not open until 11am which was not a problem for us but might be for some early risers. They have different drink menus at each bar/resta...urant and do not make the drinks from other menus. They will make other common drinks, but you have to explain what certain drinks are if you want something specific. They do not bring drinks to you, you will have to go get what you want from the bars. The drinks were good, and had a strong amount of alcohol, but were made differently depending on which bar/server you had. The restaurants -You need to plan ahead and figure out what days/times will work and then make your reservations. Not all the restaurants are open every day so if you want to try them all then plan accordingly. The Black Stone is a great dining experience and very good, my wife went back to the food truck for fish tacos almost every day it was open. Breakfast was a buffet at the Asu restaurant every day and had a lot of options, the omelet made to order was a winner for us. You can order food from the Turquoise Grill (hamburgers, pizza, chicken sandwich) or Food Trucks (nachos, pulled pork sandwich, fish tacos) and then bring it to the beach if you don’t want to sit down to eat. The entertainment -The nightly entertainment was more miss than hit or sometimes they had one solid show and then other times it would be a horrible movie. The WiFi worked well during our stay. The activities -Actvities were listed on a schedule but they did not always do them or they would walk around and ask if people but if they did not get much interest then would drop it. If you like activities it’s pretty limited, but you can get snorkeling gear from the shack by the sand volleyball area. They also have kayaks but the Catamaran was broken. I would recommend walking to the Coral Gardens Reef with some snorkeling gear it’s about 20-25 min but well worth the time. The beach was the winner of the trip! The sand is super soft and water was a perfect temperature. They have plenty of umbrellas and chairs setup and you can walk either direction on the beach for a long time. It was a beautiful spot to sit and relax for hours. The pool was big and had a nice swim up bar. It’s also close to the food truck so a good lunch time option, the water was always very clean and they had a bunch of chairs and pool floaties available. The Blue Haven was underwhelming if you take the shuttle over from the Alexandra. It’s about 15 minutes but their beach is limited and pool is rather small. The best feature at Blue Haven was Fire and Ice. It was delicious and really felt like high end dining. Our server Andre was terrific. If you are considering which resort to stay at there is no question the Alexandra is better for the money and options. Miscellaneous: After we landed, it took a little over an hour to get through customs and then we were able to get a shared taxi for $30. We did have one issue at the resort that could have been handled a lot better. They had a sewer/water repair they were working on for a few days and at one point they shut of the water to our building without notice. We came back from the beach to shower before our dinner reservation and had no water along with everyone else in our building. When we contacted the front desk they said it should be back shortly but it took a couple hours before it was finally back and by that time we decided to rinse off in the pool and go to dinner and shower when we got back. There was no apology or notice and that would have made a big difference. Overall: We really enjoyed Alexandra and the relaxing atmosphere that it inspires. If you are looking for more daily activities or excitement you will either need to book excursions or find somewhere else. It was great visiting Turks and Caicos for the first time and not having to worry about food every meal (and it was really good food!) but not sure the cost is worth it when you compare to other Caribbean destinations that are cheaper (Punta Cana DR, Jamaica, ect..

Alexandra and Turks & Caicos deliver paradise again

Darin K on Apr 27, 2025

Alexandra - 2025 This is our second year in a row spending a week at Alexandra and we are already scoping out dates for next year! We chose Alexandra because we like the all-inclusive arrangements…it ten...ds to decrease points of friction when we travel. We chose Turks & Caicos because of Grace Bay Beach…it’s truly spectacular. Alexandra is large enough to have a variety of activities and dining options yet small enough that we felt part of the resort. Last year we took the shuttle to the sister resort (Blue Haven) but this year we ate a few meals off property with people we met at the resort. It was fun to do that but we easily could have stayed on site our entire week too. The entertainment staff knows how to keep guest involved without being intrusive. We tried water aerobics this year and loved the burst of activity it provided late morning. The bingo, trivia and beach games are fun to participate in or just observe. The adult time outs again served as a catalyst to befriend other guests. Evening entertainment was always a nice way to wind down the day. Even the one night it drizzled a DJ was playing and provided my wife and I a good excuse to dance in the rain. A special mention is warranted for the on-staff talent. Tash put on a singing performance that was terrific and the steel drum band led by Barbie provided a heart pounding set. Their dedication to their craft was on full display. Our room was comfortable and a mere two minute walk from the beach. In walking along the beach last year, Alexandra was the only resort I saw with wooden furniture—a nice touch. The water and sand were even better than last year—less seaweed, which I surmise varies. While everyone at the resort made our stay wonderful, these folks were especially memorable: Keisha & Wilkens - Coconut bar Sylvie - Irie Bites - the BEST jerk chicken Farar - beach bar Popo - Coconut grill Jimmy - Black Rock Entertainment Group: Lettuce; Rh@zzor; Ace; Kimron; Barbie; Tash; and Cheeky.

We had the best vacation at The Alexandra. The staff were incredible and went out of their way to ensure an excellent vacation. The service was phenomenal. The all inclusive was so easy especially with a g...roup of 12 and 6 kids. The food was excellent. Beach was beautiful and rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend this resort for families.
