Nice hotel. Great service. Anna, the Russian speaker guide, is the best. Beach is freaking amazing. The food was as good as it could be in Cuba. The only thing I didn’t like was the renovation on our side of the building, early on the morning noise, especially if you were partying late night and needed a good sleep. Everything lease was great

The entertainment team are definitely the best in the world. Really nice and funny, especially thanks to Isaac! The hotel is really nice decorated! The food are good and the are pretty! I will come back again for sure with my family and friends. I recommend this place without a doubt!

We have been visiting Hotel Sol Palmeras since 2019, and we lovingly refer to it as "our hotel" because my wife and I have experienced so many wonderful times there. We might be a bit biased in this review, as the staff has always made us feel like special guests. At first, we appreciated the hotel’s amenities, but over time, it became clear that the most valuable part of our experience has been the people who work there. Our first friend was Mario (Mayito), the bellboy, who was always so kind, helpful, and friendly. We’ve stayed in touch over the years, even bringing food for his adorable cat, Michi, on a few occasions. Soon after, we befriended many of the staff members at the buffet, including Captain Rainier, Yeni, Yara, El Jimagua, El Indio, Sandy, Alberto, and the cooks. We also became close with the staff at the specialty restaurants: Yeni at the Chino, Yaque, Jorge, and Nayle at El Italiano, and Ayahi. Even though we didn’t often use the snack bar, we made friends with Nivaldo there as well. At the reception, we were fortunate to meet great people like Felix, Yamile, Jaqueline, Alicia, Yesenia and Wilber. We had a good relationship with the previous reception manager, Lisy, and later met the new manager, Juanita, who has been equally welcoming and helpful. We are especially grateful to her, Mayito, and María Ofelia, the sales manager, for ensuring we could stay in our favorite bungalow, where we have always felt at home. Our room attendant, Judith, was also incredibly kind, though she now works in the hotel rooms instead of the bungalows. We can’t forget to mention the lovely Odarmis, who now has an office near our friends Mary and Dayana! Over the years, we've offered a few suggestions to help improve the hotel. For example, the lobby, being one of the few enclosed lobbies in Varadero, can get quite hot—especially for the staff who spend long hours there. Some of them also endure long blackouts at home. We came up with the idea to provide them with USB mini desk fans, and we were thrilled to see they are still in use during our September visit. We even brought a new fan as a gift. If you're planning to visit, a Small Desk Fan USB Powered would make a great surprise for the hardworking team at the reception. Although our most recent stay was affected by Hurricane Helene, which brought some unpleasant weather, we were still so happy to reconnect with the staff and reminisce about our wonderful past stays. Hotel Sol Palmeras will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Room We got a Junior Suite after renovation and i was very satisfied with it. Beds were comfortable. The only one thing i didnt like in the room was very loud air conditioning which also didnt work too well. Food Food was repetitive, i used to eat the same things every day. Most of the food i didnt like, but it was some stuff i loved including pizza and excellent donuts! But knowing the hard situation in Cuba i can say its a very good food for their standards. The beach was one of the most beautiful beaches i have seen in my life. Very clean water and no seaweed. Entertainment The whole entertainment team was amazing and so friendly. Always trying to keep the guests entertained. They come up with new activities every day. Even when they have breaks and are supposed to leave to their room to rest, they still sit or play games with tourists.
