The hotel is an average hotel in a very convenient location. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean along and the general areas are all maintained in a decent manner. Some of the gym' equipment could use some love, there is evidence of rust on some of the equipment. There is a locker room with showers and a changing room if needed right next to the gym. The food was honestly just okay. Two of our best meals we had were purchased outside. The breakfast,lunch, and dinner menus did not offer a lot of variety while i was there. The drinks were great. Pool area was not crowded during the 2pm to 6pm timeframe which is when we usually went. The beach was clean and as long as there was no weather patterns interrupting the tide, the water was clean and calm (free of brown algae). All in all I would return as in comparison to a lot of the other hotels in this area, this might be one of the better ones. JHM

Although I went on this holiday a few months back, I still wanted to write up my experience. Bougainvillea hotel is an average hotel...but what made it special was the staff.... They were very friendly and professional. All staff greeted us with smiles every day which was lovely. Massive thanks to Akowa at the front desk she was professional and helpful when making arrangements.also massive thanks to Natasha, Rachel and Vicky...Kemar was always working hard in that made heat but was also full of information and helped us out on occasions. The hotel looks a little dated and the games room and gym definitely need attention. The pool area, restaurant and rooms were always clean and well maintained. The drinks at the swim up bar were reasonably priced and they don't skimp on the alcohol...nice touch! The negatives.... Evening entertainment ended at 10pm...er, this is a holiday!!...big shame.. Music around the pool is too low to hear and would have been nice to hear carribean music!! Pool chairs in good condition and plenty of towels. The Calabash Restaurant was food was not to my taste but plenty of people ate there and the staff were nice. If u stay here u need a car as calling taxis can get pricey. I still feel the location is quite good.. We hired Alonzo to drive us around, he showed us the sights and was a nice man.. The hotel beach was well maintained.... I would definitely recommend and would definitely return (although bringing my little speaker next time lol) Thanks Bougainvillea, u made my first visit to Barbados memorable for the right reasons ......

Our overall experience was just okay. The front desk staff were friendly and nice. The grounds were well kept and the food from the one restaurant on property was good. However, the walls between rooms were paper thin. You could hear everything in the rooms next to us. Unfortunately we had some very loud neighbors who would party late and come in completely wasted so that hindered our quality of sleep. We were also unable to access the beach during our stay due to rough waves (red flag on beach indicated the beach was closed) and the pool was always full due to hotel being at max capacity during our stay.

My family stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday the experience from the beginning to the end was excellent the rooms where well taken care of and clean ,customer service was 10/10 and the food was excellent the bottle of wine upon arrive in the room was a very nice touch. The only thing I down fall to me is that there is no all inclusive option but the hotel is breathtaking very beautiful.

Beautiful beach front location unfortunately I didn’t get to see the all white sandy beach and clear water due to a seaweed problem which is not the fault of the hotel I know it’s Mother Nature. Lovely grounds to the hotel great pool area and during our stay we didn’t experience any problems in getting a sunbed whether it was by the pool or on the beach. Clean towels available daily. The pool did seem a little cloudy not as clear as it could be. We hired a car through reception which was so easy the hire car company and reception were amazing sorting a car out for us and it was the pinical of our holiday travelling through Barbados thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was good a couple of snags. We had an adjoining door to our neighbour it was as if we were all living together you could hear their conversations and what the tv was playing, not good at 6.am when your in bed and the tv comes on next door and the banging of crockery. I think at some point of our booking this should have been mentioned we assumed it was a normal functioning room. The kitchen was basic no oven or grill I really could’ve done with a grill. The microwave didn’t have a grill function and the toaster was just good for toast. My reason for this is we massively under estimated how expensive it was to eat out in Barbados it really caught us out. Being self catering there wasn’t enough choice of eating at the hotel. The takeaway order system is a very long wait when you just want to grab and go. The nearest bars and restaurants are 20 to 25 mins away which is fine if you want to venture out. A couple of times we went out we were accosted by local males asking for money this unnerved me. The taxis knew how to charge very expensive To sum up our holiday we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation of the pool and the beach the cocktails were amazing but we didn’t drink too many due to the price and we struggled at evening meal times. I have to add the entertainment is little to be desired the one night we found amazing was Saturday night with 3 girls called Virgo.
