Hidden Gem in the Caribbean

Our third visit. The property is stunning. A great beach. The food is fantastic - especially the breakfast buffet including an omelette station. Good dive/snorkel on site. Multiple pools including a serenity pool for adults. Easy to get into town. But the best part is the staff that GM Gary Farstad has assembled: world class, nice people. All in all a wonderful place!
Management ruined our stay

The first 5 days were great here. As Platinum Elite our room was upgraded and we the facilities a lot. Day 6 everything changed when a bulldozer spewing dark noxious fumes started working on the beach with no warning. When I complained to management he basically said we have to do the work and I could go to another beach off premises. He was not very apologetic and couldn’t understand the fuss since we were sitting in “clean air.” He finally agreed to stop the work but then the head of engineering said no so they went back and forth until they finally stopped it. The lack of caring from management has tainted this place for me and I want to make sure people know they don’t really care about their customers. They’d prefer to throw a few points out way than consider how the work is disturbing us during our stay. Several of us are now waiting to hear what compensation they will give us.
Supposed to have been a rest and relaxing trip but got minimal rest.

I'm currently at resort, which is why I'm writing my review now. I leave tomorrow after a five night stay. The resort is beautiful. The property is very clean and the staff has been great. Love the pool and beach. The food is just ok and expensive. It's nourishment for the body. The mosquitoes are horrible, so please bring repellent. My only complaint is the beds. They are very hard and uncomfortable to sleep. My body hurts, and my back has been hurting so badly since getting here and sleeping in the bed. I came here for rest and relaxation, yet i toss and turn all night in pain. My hips and back hurt from the hardness of the bed. I am writing this as i am waking up annoyed and in pain yet again. All right! So we stayed end of October, beginning of November, so low ish season. Because of that, the pool bar was under scheduled renovations and updates, so it was closed and a bit noisy. That being said, we (and I assume most guests) were lodged on the other side of the resort so not really inconvenienced by the noise. I think that’s the only less than perfect thing I can think of. As for the positives: some Marriotts (our first choice for lodging) are better than others; this was a great one. Clean. Comfortable. Perfect little private ish beach from which you could easily snorkel and a really fun pool layout. (Actually 2 pools, the adult only one had lanes to do laps that was really nice to have). For those wondering, this is not an all inclusive, but there are a few options for food onsite. The little food we had was actually very good and fun, we had a more than decent truffle pasta and the dishes being brought out were very good looking. We had access to the Reef Club, a privilege I would absolutely recommend choosing if you have the option. Staff and amenities were great, in fact it had the best coffee we had in Curacao. Finally, the front desk staff were fantastic. Big shout out to Lakeisha who saw us ever so slightly distressed about a minor issue in the lobby, while waiting to check in on our very first day, and proactively came to us to help. After bringing us to the front desk (we were in the lounge area) she sorted our issue in the blink of an eye! Thanks again! Lakeisha arranged to have some delicious, house made, chocolate truffles delivered to our room on our anniversary… and she really made our stay an amazing one. She went above and beyond. We will definitely consider doing this trip again! Thanks for a great time. Thomas & Ashley!

Great couples escape! My wife and I came here for a little retreat and had an amazing time. We did very little, laid out by the beach and pool. The room service food is excellent especially breakfast; best in-room dining I’ve had. C-spice is their nicest restaurant and it’s was truly just ok with a couple stand out dishes; we highly recommend their creamy seafood soup and the corvina. We enjoyed the food from the Salty Iguana poolside restaurant/bar, especially the fish tacos. The service at the hotel was truly top notch with Joshua and Jaymy (father and son dynamic duo) topping the charts with superb service and smiles all around. We very much enjoyed the Serenity Infiniti pool overlooking the beach and that the overall vibe of the resort was low key and chill. No crazy crowds or annoying guests. Even the kiddos were well behaved :) We will be back soon!
