Great Hotel

Elaina S on May 09, 2025

The front desk staff were great and helpful when answering my questions on things to do within walking distance of the hotel. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. I had a good drinks and a g...reat meal at the pool bar. I would definitely stay here again!

Looks cool but it’s only on the surface

The front desk staff and valets are hard-working and welcoming. The bed was super comfortable and the décor is cool. Aside from that, there were many quirks and inconveniences (eg, constant wind noise whis...tling through my door, half-wall shower), which I could have overlooked until at checkout I was told there was a “smoking report” on my room and I would be charged a fee. I protested because I don’t smoke at all and asked where the report came from. She said they have technology that senses it…then added their technology can also be triggered by cologne, hair spray, etc. She removed the charge, but the anger I felt at being accused so nonchalantly overshadowed any good feelings I had had about my stay. If the hotel continues to rely on their faulty technology to force their staff to offend guests as they checkout, they shouldn’t be surprised if those guests don’t return. As stated in other reviews, the pool bar is randomly open/closed on sunny days and the pool water is very warm/not refreshing. When the pool bar is closed, pool towels need to be retrieved from the front desk, which may result in your waiting behind a line of guests checking in/out. I understand that resort fees are standard at hotels, but at this place I really wondered what are we paying for, since amenities weren’t available and we were doing the work? The bar, The Lei Stand is now open and the staff and food/drinks there are fantastic; but be warned, it is reservation only with no priority given to hotel guests.
