Beautiful but food/drinks expensive

PROS The pool and beach areas are amazing, spectacular view of the ocean. The rooms were great, a bit dated but large and clean, with a small fridge. They brought as much bottled water as needed. The breakfast were very good (see CONS for negatives). Our server, Juanita was fantastic. In general, the staff at the resort are very nice. CONS All the food and drinks are very expensive at this resort (85 pesos for a beer and 175 pesos for a cocktail). As comparison to say Quinta Bella, they are 25 to 50% more. For convenience, we ate breakfast at the resort (400-700 pesos per couple). We had one supper, but it was not very good (we were served frozen/raw salmon. They really pushed, the buffet but it was far too expensive for what you got $400-500 pesos per person. SUMMARY Lot a great things about the resort, but probably wouldn’t come back unless the food/drinks were lower.
Amazing Hotel in Stunning Location
Tony F on Dec 09, 2024
It is a gorgeous looking hotel on a stunning bay, that is perfect for a relaxing holiday. My room was huge, as was the bed, with a lovely balcony overlooking the stunning beach. The pool area looks lovely, as do all the grounds, with beautiful flora that attracts a myriad of butterflies. I also saw a Mexican raccoon outside my room which was a particular highlight. I think the pool is 120m long and I was able to do laps of it when it seemed the sea was too rough to swim. On that point, if you are a decent swimmer and can out a few metres, it is actually perfect for swimming. There is a lifeguard present all day who is very helpful with advice and also leant me his orange float so that jet skiers could see me. There are numerous bars and restaurants but I didn't use any, as they all have music playing and my ears are quite sensitive. I always did the 5-10 minute walk out of the hotel to a great little bar/restaurant called Primos or Montana Coffee Bar for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a convenience store near there too. There is a Starbucks in the hotel which is great. Special mention also goes to the lady who works in the Boutique, and the bell-boys who are incredibly friendly. If you want a taxi to Santa Cruz or La Crucecita, you get it straight away. I often did the walk which is safe to do even at night, albeit quite tough in the heat but definitely worth it to see the clear night sky. No real criticisms except for the music in all places. I see others have criticised communication with the hotel and when I messaged before may stay, no one got back to me, so that could be addressed. I have seen criticism of state of rooms but mine was perfect.
