Best view at the property. Most updated room we have had here.

We stayed in room J222 August 9th through 16th. This was our 5th time to stay at the Maui Eldorado. This time, we rented directly from the owner of the condo and we were able to obtain the exact room in the picture online. (previously when booking through Outrigger, we were not able to choose an exact room and they were never as nice or have the view that was in the picture). J222 was exactly as described; nicely decorated, wonderful view of the golf course, cabana and ocean, with no buildings blocking the view. Our only issue is that it does not have any window coverings! It has a sunshade on the lanai, but that does not provide privacy, nor does it darken the room. At night, when the light is on and it is dark inside, you can see directly into the room. In the morning, at 6 am, the room is illuminated as the sun comes up, so no sleeping in. And, in the afternoon, the west sun shines right in, making the room extremely hot...the a/c cannot keep up and runs continuously. This room would be perfect, if it had some window coverings. Very, very strange that there aren't any. Our only other complaint, is that the front desk did not know we were arriving, they had to call the property management to confirm. When we got to the room, the t.v. was on an old sitcom. Strange. the room seemed dusty and removing our shoes to walk in the condo, our feet became very dirty...there are also dust bunnies under the bed. The unit needs a thorough cleaning. (that area of the property is getting a new roof, so it is my guess, the dust came from the activity of stripping the roof and putting a new one on.....but, would appear the room hadn't been cleaned after the roof was completed).
Great place

We had a wonderful four days in J200. Huge balcony, nice view of the golf course and the sea. Maybe one of the best views at the resort. It was on the second floor and I’d prefer that again I was originally on the fence about picking this or The Kaanapali Ocean Inn. The latter is right on the beach, and I thought The Eldorado might be too far from the sand. (I thought when in Maui, you want to be right where the surf breaks:). The KOI has got pretty bad reviews so I ended up opting for this and I didn’t regret it (although I don’t know what The KOI is like) The beach is really close. Literally 5 minutes walk. And all the rave about the cabana is so true. You just walk down there with your cooler and they’ll supply you with beach towels and chairs. (I wish they had umbrellas as well, J200 has got one small one, though) And the beach is among the top 5 I’ve been to (and I’ve really have been to many all over the world). Sandy bottom, wide, clear water and really not that many people. So it felt like you had this paradise beach practically to yourself. We saw lots of whales (you can hear the underwater) and even a turtle. One thing about the apartment puzzled me. The sofa bed wasn’t made up. Normally I wouldn’t mention this, because when you travel with four kids and have to use a sofa bed, you almost always have to do it yourself. And that’s fine. But this being an 800 dollars a night place, I would’ve thought it was taken care of. It wasn’t, and not only that, it took us 20-30 minutes to find sheets, covers, linen etc. in various closets. So minor thing, but room for improvement. That doesn’t take anything away from the fact that this was en excellent place, and I’d gladly go back and make the bed again :)
Good trip!

The place was ok and if on a budget, would recommend. I prefer a resort like the Westin but for the price we paid, have no complaints. The grounds are beautiful and pool area clean. We stayed in K211 and the room was nice. It looked exactly like the pics and was clean. We were able to see the ocean and golf course and walked to the beach cabana and pools easily. It was a nice walk to Whaler village and to Dukes. The bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked. It was a quiet and relaxing place for a holiday.
DO NOT RELY ON YOUR OUTRIGGER BOOKINGS

I am posting this as a warning to others with upcoming bookings in February 2024! OUTRIGGER Maui Eldorado is currently REBOOKING/CANCELLING all bookings due to red cross signing an additional contract to house evacuees. I am supportive of evacuees and their terrible situation, however Outrigger has provided no communication regarding the situation. We only found out because we called them to inquire why our credit cards have not been charged. Customer service staff confirmed our booking, reservation staff said they have no space and are looking at "other resorts" for us. With less than 2 weeks before we arrive, we are now looking for a new place to stay for 6 people. They said they will book another condo on our behalf so that we get the same price - but we have no input on where on the island or what property with. Oddly enough, there are condos available for rent at maui eldorado, but they don't want to pay the premium for them as they are privately owned and not part of outrigger. Do NOT trust this company right now and please call to confirm your booking multiple times if you hope to stay here!
Great for families

The Maui Eldorado was a great choice for our family of four (with two older teen girls). Our unit was a one bedroom, two bathroom on the bottom floor in K building near the office and parking lot and a short walk to the main pool. We did not hear any road noise. We did book through a local property management company and chose our unit. The condo was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was small though functional. We mostly used the fridge, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. The unit was well stocked with many dishes, cutlery, garbage bags, soap, paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent. The bedroom was large with two comfortable queen beds topped with many pillows and the two full bathrooms were fantastic with having older teens. We especially liked the mirror and sink area being separate from the shower and toilet which meant all four of us could get ready in some capacity at the same time. Made a huge difference from a regular hotel room. The unit also had lots of closet and drawer space and enough room for all of us. There is no cleaning service during the stay though the unit had ample towels, more than we needed. Separate beach towels were also provided. The washer and dryer were appreciated, worked well and used a couple of times. The patio area has no view but was secluded and fairly private. It had both a table and chairs for dining as well as two loungers and a pull down shade to block out the hot sun in the afternoon. There were also three beach chairs and a boogie board provided in the chest on the patio. The grounds were beautiful and well kept with lots of trees and flowers. We only used the main pool (there were two others on the property) but were in the pool almost daily. The pool was clean, heated and good for families with shallow and deeper areas. There were also a few umbrellas for shade and a shaded pavilion with tables and chairs as well as bathrooms. The loungers were padded, though the coverings have seen better days and several need to be replaced due to stains or rips. The pool was above the parking garage and there were views of the golf course and distant views of the ocean. The hot tub never had a consistent temperature - it was either very cool or way too hot, not really useable. It also did not look inviting. We did not use the barbecue area though many did and the barbecues looked well cleaned and easy to use. The location of the Maui Eldorado was fantastic. A small shopping area was nearby walking distance with a general store, coffee shop, pizza place, Chinese restaurant and a fine dining restaurant. It was also an easy walk to Whaler’s Village through the grounds at the Sheraton to the other side of Black Rock on to the beach boardwalk. We saw beautiful sunsets on the walk and ate great meals at both Hula Grill and Leilani’s. It was nice to be able to have a few drinks and walk home. The best amenity provided at the Maui Eldorado is the beach cabana. Though it was a 10 minute walk from the condo to the beach, you did not have to lug all of your beach gear. You are able to sign out beach chairs and towels at the cabana. There is also a fridge to keep your food and waters as well as lounge chairs that stay on the deck of the cabana. If you are not fond of the walk, you can get a golf cart ride both to and from the cabana. The beach was beautiful with soft sand and the water was clear, with a sandy bottom. There was good wave action the days we were there which was perfect for body surfing. Decent low key snorkelling to the left at the lava rocks where turtles liked to hang out. Even without snorkelling, we saw a couple of turtles swim by almost every day and once when we were in the water a monk seal swam on by!) The Maui Eldorado is a great place for a tropical family vacation. We would stay here again. Next time I would book farther in advance for a unit on the second floor with views.
