Normally, when I stay at Excalibur, everything is in good order, but this trip was a bit different. It felt as though we were placed in a room that had been cleaned, but not thoroughly inspected. The AC was broken, and while it was promptly replaced, housekeeping never arrived to vacuum the layers of dust that had fallen out of the area where the AC is held. When we called the housekeeping line, the woman who answered was not only unhelpful but also rude. The wait was so long that we eventually just decided to deal with it, as we typically don’t require housekeeping during our stays. Additionally, the bathroom floor and shower were covered in hair, and the sink didn’t drain properly. It simply didn’t feel like the room had been properly checked or maintained. While I did appreciate the early check-in that I paid for, I can’t help but wonder if waiting for another room might have resulted in a cleaner space. I’ve been a loyal guest at Excalibur (and sometimes Luxor) for over quite some time now, and this year’s experience felt somewhat lackluster. As someone who works in hospitality as a front desk supervisor, I understand that high occupancy can sometimes lead to oversights. However, if you want to maintain high standards and ensure guest satisfaction, addressing complaints with professionalism and courtesy is key. A dismissive attitude never leads to a positive outcome.

I had the most amazing customer service when we woke up to a water leak in our room. Frank in the maintenance department is an angel! Yolanda at the front desk is as well and very accommodating and professional. They turned what could have been a really rough day into being all better in a very short time by caring!
