BY Far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. Felt the room was really dirty, especially the bathroom. Bathroom Sink had a slow drain. Crack tile. Dripping from vent. Toilet paper was very far from toilet. Toilet was not center and too close to shower. There is a light button for the mirror that is right next to the bed and very noticeable while trying to fall asleep. OMG what happen to having cable. There are only 6 channels on their TVs in their rooms. Never have i been to an hotel that only has 6 channels (which was only news channels) . So sad, wont stay here again. Even ask about VIP and they said you have to spend lots of money gambling. So no discussion about player cards or anything to make my stay a better or happy one. They just dont care. Limited food. I ended up renting another room at different hotel to get good service. Even their staff was unfriendly.
4 night stay in October

Stayed here in the Marra tower in a king sized room. Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon after travelling from route 66 locations. Told to check in after 4pm but we arrived slightly earlier and luckily were able to check in straight away. Soon afterwards a queue started to build. Overall we were lucky with the lifts with very little delay. Found out during our 4 night stay that only 2 lifts out of 6 seemed to be working in the Marra tower. The room was one the refurbished rooms with a view from the 12th floor straight onto the Stat hotel with its distinctive tower. Bed was large and very comfortable. Safe provided was very easy to operate. However don’t stuff it full so it doesn’t close properly as that mucks up the locking mechanism. This happened and I need to have an engineer come up to the room along with security. They needed to make sure I was the person booked into the room and had to show a form of ID. Thankfully I had my driving license on me rather than my passport (which was stuck in safe). The rain shower was lovely and well appointed and there is a small glass door fridge to put in drinks etc. This was one of the reasons for booking the Sahara, as other hotels either had no fridge or a room fridge with beverages which triggered the cost if you moved them. Only frustrating thing was I didn’t manage to get my Samsung tablet casting to the large Samsung tv in the room. I’m normally very technical minded but this defeated me. Found the staff very professional and friendly. Only had one meal at the hotel, which was at Bella (Italian food) as it had a discounted happy hour between 9pm and 10pm. We don’t normally eat as late as that but on the night in question, had spent the day walking the strip. All the other restaurants there at Sahara seemed somewhat expensive for what was being offered, $24 for fish and chips, beer for $9, wine by the bottle $34+. Only used the casino a few times and never saw a cocktail waitress during the time. Went to another casino on the strip and whilst playing had 3 drinks with 30 minutes. Overall the Sahara is an impressive hotel with lots of things to like about it.
