Overview
The deluxe Kiahuna Plantation Resort Kauai by OUTRIGGER is located on the beach at sunny Poipu on the southern shore of Kauai. The property's lush 35 acres are landscaped with tropical plantings and foliage, an extensive cactus and succulent garden and many relaxing water features. Spacious one- and two-bedroom condominium apartments are available. Each is tastefully furnished with a living and dining area, complete kitchen, ceiling fans, cable TV, and a private lanai.
- Guests of Kiahuna Plantation Resort by OUTRIGGER will have access to the pool, spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, Little Fish Coffee, and the Cabana Bar and Grill at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club.
Cleaning fees include
- There is a mandatory check-out cleaning fee per unit paid directly to the hotel:

"Extreme" noise issues

Rented "Royal Condo" with Outrigger. Got a 2nd floor apt on an end (roadside) unit that looked nothing like the website pictures (which showed a 1st floor apt). Apparently that this is the norm. Apt doesn'...t have a/c, hence walls have no insulation, windows have no glass pane for airflow. Outdoor noises start at 6AM - vehicles, trucks, mowers, compressors for cleaning the laundry floor - they flow inside unabated. Woke up on the fourth morning of our stay to the extremely loud noise of rotary cutters and hammers of a construction crew remodeling the stairways to the apt. This is happening like 10ft from the bedroom! Soon we were hopping over a debris field to enter/exit the apt. Outrigger DID offer to move us to a new apt, but not before I spoke to 3 front desk ladies ("we are fully booked" was the standard response) - by that time the experience had soured me enough that we chose to check out, before completing our stay - a first!
BUYER BEWARE- (see Google reviews too) show $350 non negotiable at check in ‘checkout and cleaning fee’ Otherwise great.

As mentioned in other reviews $350 ‘checkout and cleaning’ fee not included in bookings. This is paid at check in. Be prepared to pay! It seems the same for short and long stays. Our sea view apartment wa...s 13-72 was well appointed and as we had such a lovely view decided to eat in most days. Got take out from Bangkok Happy Bowl and Sushi Bar one evening that was good. Even saw whales breaching while eating lunch on our lanai. Pool is at the Athletic club across the road with coffee shop and restaurant. Lovely grounds with lots of birds and big lawns especially for children to explore and play. Beach is great for children and adults with beach chairs. Surf and boogie boards avail to rent. See my 5* review of Kaua’i Surf School. Loungers are on the lawn with a good view. Walk along to Poipu beach park with great shallow snorkelling.
