The Westgate is a great hotel.

Safari795202 on May 05, 2025

The room was very clean & spacious, the beds were comfortable & inviting. The service (both room and downstairs) was excellent & the amenities were great. The service personnel outside the hotel were alway...s friendly and accommodating, the bar served excellent drinks. The location was within two miles of everywhere I needed to go. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, I would definitely stay again.

Convenient Location, Limited Privacy

Anne01017 (Trapper Creek, Alaska) on Apr 30, 2025

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located on a quiet street, offering a peaceful retreat in the bustling city. The room is clean and relatively spacious for New York standards. It’s also close to major attra...ctions such as Times Square, the Theatre District, and Central Park. Provides water bottles daily. Cons: The room had an adjoining door to the next room, which compromised privacy as conversations could be heard between the two rooms. We were asked to be quiet around 9 PM, which was inconvenient. Additionally, room service did not automatically replenish towels, toilet paper, and hair conditioner, requiring us to call and request them.

Room tax very expensive

Sightsee65559259314 (Oldham, United Kingdom) on Apr 23, 2025

We stayed here as a family of 3 with my son having an annexed room. The location was brilliant come out of Grand Central turn left, past the amazing Chrysallar Building a few blocks down and you are there.... The rooms were just right, very clean and comfy. A small Starbucks in the lobby which did coffee (of course) cereals and pastries. The only downfall was the room taxes of $186 which I did not think was worth it, all we had was a bottle of water each day. This was the second visit to New York in 6 months and the room tax did not reflect the value.

Hidden gem, great value for this area of NYC

kuroiTenshi (proud montrealais) on Apr 14, 2025

I usually go to NYC every year for meetings and stay elsewhere; this place was new to be, booked by a colleague who was attending for the same occasion I was. Stayed here due to proximity to UN for meeting...s and events. Great location, also walking distance to MOMA, Times Square and other NYC landmarks. I had arrived very late and had to go inside to find valet service for parking. Paid in full on check-in, was charged resort fee that I had to flag to reception for reimbursement as a Westgate member. Assigned an accessible room* (didn't ask for one though) at the end of a hallway, which was largely quiet. *Biggest complaint was the accessible shower. This had no door, which meant 1) freezing due to A/C if you're not directly under the water and 2) water running all over the bathroom floor, not just a puddle but mini-flood which I tried to mop up with towels. Using towels as a barrier didn't work. Ended up just keeping my flip flops next to the door to keep my feet dry when walking in there. Very comfy bed, slept well. Loved having a mini-fridge to keep my water bottle cold. Used the baggage storage room after check-out so I could go to meetings in the morning. Service at Reception was friendly when they were actually around - seemed a bit spotty. Regardless of everything, would stay here again.

Hotel staff was very kind and accommodating for our family trip to New York over spring break! The rooms were lovely, cleaned daily and the bar staff was great for mom and dad! The location of the hotel wa...s close walking distance to several attractions and several restaurants near by.
