An Arizona Classic with a Great Crew and Great Views
ellen jo r (Clarkdale, Arizona) on Sep 26, 2024
I was a guest here during the Arizona Governor's Conference on Tourism and really enjoyed the style, the history and the excellent staff. It's an Arizona classic, with great views all around and a lovely location. Very peaceful. The rooms are well-appointed and there are some nice dining options on site. It was an honor to spend the night here.
Allow the thermostat to give me Low/Medium fan speed instead of just Auto/High

The saying that reads underneath their clock-tower says it all: "Where time stands still". (1) The clock is in correct. I THINK its supposed to read 5 o'clock (somewhere) but instead the big hand is pointing at the 5 and small hand at the 12 so its 12:25. That's a fun fact that is inexpensively changed and I don't hold it against the millennials who probably set it ;-) (2) We were in a "casita" and the decor had definitely stood still. The 1990s called and they want their decor back! (3) A/C: Now air-conditioning is a major factor in Arizona! Fun fact I went from this JW Marriott to a different city and a Hyatt Regency and they both had the same "WiSuite" thermostat. The Hyatt, appropriately had one that operated with Auto/Low/Medium/High with the click of a subsequent button; Marriott only had Auto/High! That meant that multiple times in the night I had to get up, at the behest of my wife, and turn off the A/C. Then get up and turn it back on because it was either too hot or too cold. :-O
