Nice Resort Great Snorkeling

MTMcLeodTraveler (Sarnia, Canada) on Sep 24, 2021

Absolutely Beautiful Cabana Rooms!! Comfortable beds and amazing decks complete with a hammock and table and chairs. In-room safe and fridge with beer and pop. Purchase the coffee card its worth the upgrade! Bring your own water bottle there are stations around for fresh water! Food buffet, but there was plenty and you could always find something. Drinks flowed freely lol! Staff was great!

Loved my stay at this resort! The animation staff was absolutely amazing, the food was great and the site is wonderful! The diving spot and the little private beach are real treasures. Would 100% recommend and would love to go back!

A visit to Media Luna Roatan

DzidraB1 on Mar 31, 2020

We took an ocean view cabana, large room and bathroom with a spacious deck looking out over the ocean. We enjoyed this resort because it was quiet, lots of natural vegetation and great snorkelling. The beach was a little small with no palapas or umbrellas - but go up the stairs one level and there is a sun deck with canopy. If you have trouble walking this may not be a good resort as the pathways are large stones set in cement and there are steps to get to many of the cabanas and down to the ocean. The food was very good - all buffet but lots of choices with pasta station and grill. Sunday was gala night with lots of seafood - shrimp, mussels, fish. Whole lobster wasn't served but there was lobster pasta. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests - most of them spoke a little english. The Animation Team provides physical activities during the day (stretching, zumba, dance lessons, volleyball, etc) and entertainment in the evening (dancing, karaoke, quiz games, cultural show, etc.). You can hear the music in the evening from most of the cabanas especially the ocean front ones just past the pool area. We really enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to returning next year.

Great snorkeling! Relaxed trip.

Ella003 (St. Catharines ON) on Mar 20, 2020

We researched snorkeling from beach destinations and came up with the Media Luna. We were pleased with our choice upon arrival. The Media Luna is charming, picturesque and has everything you need in an all-inclusive. We had a quaint cabana - highly recommend it! No issues at this resort at all. Had a slight A/C leak - maintenance arrived quickly and took care of it. The resort is on a bay which has warm ocean breezes. The best snorkeling is at the dive shop pier bay. The buffet was plentiful and had a great variety of choices at every meal. Staff was friendly and courteous. We tipped $1 U.S. for meals and bar service each time and left a tip and gift for the maid each day. We also brought a few t-shirts to give away (Nike, Adidas) which were received with great enjoyment by a few of the servers/wait staff. We gave the landscapers some work gloves which they were happy for. The rooms and bathrooms were large with hair dryers and air conditioning. Wifi was available for free in the lobby and buffet area. The only other restaurant was available for a cost. We didn't try it and saw few people eating there. We did the island tour and a day snorkeling tour. Both were good with good food included. We ate at the Henry Morgan on the island tour. If you want relaxing go to Media Luna, if you want crowds and action go to Henry Morgan. Pool was a welcome dip after the ocean. We were a couple in our 50's. Not much to do for children except pool and beach.

Private and quiet

CharJanC (Burlington, Canada) on Mar 17, 2020

Beautiful resort, idyllic setting, beautiful views. Cabanas are large, solid buildings with all the amenities including a large deck. Easy access to the main buildings, the pool, and beach. Very quiet with limited music being played and no loud parties. We don’t dive but we heard the diving and snorkeling were excellent. Food was modest but more than adequate. Staff were very good and pleasantly modest about tips. A special thank you to Michelle Chretien, our Air Transat rep who handled a difficult situation with grace and professionalism in getting us all back to Canada when COVID19 shut the island down.
