We would stay again. In a minute.

The front desk service was over-the-top friendly - an enjoyable Newfoundlander that oriented us. The breakfast was amazing - served on real plates with real silverware. And the bed! So, so comfy. It was just what we needed after a long flight.
Reservations Not Honored!

Unbelievable! I arrived to check in only to learn the manager made the decision to give my reserved room to someone who had no reservation. Then directed the desk clerk to book me a me a room at another low-end hotel. I received no notification of this until I arrived at the Fairfield at 5pm. When arrived at the other hotel and told them what happened, the clerk informed me that this happens often. There's nothing more disappointing when travelling then having reservations not honored! Never again!
Great Stay.

Check in and out was a breeze. The room itself was comfortable. We had a king bed, and it was ok. The bathroom was huge, and the shower pressure was ok. Didn't like the shampoo/conditioner/body wash though, made my skin dry, so I used my own after the first night. The cleaning and breakfast staff are wonderful and polite. FYI.. They only clean rooms every other day which wasn't an issue for us. They have free buffet breakfast for guests. It gets repetitive and boring. The bacon is chicken bacon and not properly cooked. It's almost underdone, so I didn't eat it. I liked the yogurt selection and waffle station though.
Great staff with a convenient location.

The staff in this hotel are very friendly. Since my wife stays there often, we are greeted by name and made to feel welcome. The hotel is clean and housekeeping was quick to address any requests we had during our stay. The mattresses are quite comfortable, but it is approaching the time when some of them need to be replaced. The provided breakfast is good, but could use more variety if you are picky. There are plenty of meal options within walking distance. Finn’s is just on the other side of the parking lot if you don’t feel like going out anywhere. Overall, it’s our preferred hotel for staff and location.
St. John's weekend getaway

I had a great weekend stay at this hotel recently and had to write a well deserved review. I will preface this by noting that this hotel was very busy with sports events this particular weekend but you'd never know it. Each of the staff we encountered during the stay were amazing and went above and beyond. In particular, we were amazed by the kindness of Andrew on the front desk. It was a shopping weekend and we had a lot of bags! He helped us from the elevator, checked us out, and then even helped us bring our bags to the car. He made sure we grabbed some breakfast items from the free breakfast area for our journey and wished us a safe trip. We commented on his kindness and he said "it costs nothing to be kind, so why be cheap?!?" :) As for the room, the space was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the TV had set up for Netflix. I forgot to pack a few things and a quick call to the front and they provided me with what I needed. The shower is large with glass doors, plenty of hot water, and had nice dispensary style scented toiletries. The vanity is a large size so lots of space for your make up and toiletries while getting ready. The location is great for shopping. There are many shops and services on located right there on Kentmount road. And Costco is just an 8 minute drive away. There is an Irish Pub style restaurant (Fionn Macools) in the parking lot and Starbucks is also next door. I have previously stayed at Sandman during my trips to town but I'll make Fairfield Inn my new go to stay.
