Amazing stay in Taínos

The hotel is very cozy and nice in a rustic style with a big green area. It has an incredibly beautiful beach with the light soft sand and amazing ocean ?? The beach is always clean and spacious, free sunbeds were also available. The food is quite good, there is a lot to choose from, but very few vegetables. Rooms are nice and clean, but every day we had a trouble with magnetic cards, they didn’t work and we had to recharge them constantly. Hotel staff is very friendly, always ready to help: Daisy (lobby waitress), Yudel (bartender in the lobby) are kind and positive guys who make you feel welcome. Jaime and Osdenys, guys from animation team are cool! Osdenys funny and active is the best in dancing lessons ?? Jaime is always positive and caring with a sunny sincere smile was doing almost all the activities (volleyball, aqua gym, yoga, fitness), he managed to do everything creating a great mood for the guests?? In general it would be nice to have more activities at night, like live music, disco and beach party, cause except for the shows in the stuffy hall, where is nothing to breath, there is nothing to do in the evenings.

DO NOT GO HERE!We arrived at the airport early for our flight.. paid extra for Elite Plus with sunwing. Only to find out the elite plus window is closed so we were told we will need to stand in the regular long line… why pay for extra when you aren’t even getting anything from it. When we arrived to the resort, Bugs everywhere. There were cockroaches all over the buffet, crawling in the food, Under the tables. There is no AC so we had to switch to 3 different rooms. Sheets stained with blood/other bodily fluids. The bathroom in the room was so dirty it smells like sewage. 2/3 of our rooms, the shower was broken. No Drinking water available. The night snack bar is so dirty+bugs. The guy who was cooking was using the same tongs to touch everything including raw meat . We were desperate for something to eat after travelling all day so we decided to eat a simple grilled cheese and a hotdog. What a mistake. I got so violently ill. I have never experienced Such a sickness like that in my life. And I had no water to drink while I was sick. Vomiting and many many toilet trips. The room keys don’t work so you keep having to get new ones. The one room that we had the door didn’t even lock because the entire door frame was completely broken and we requested maintenance multiple times to come To fix it so we could sleep safely and no one ever showed up. we had to walk to the front desk by ourselves in the middle of the night to try and request maintenance to come and they said they will send someone and yet again no one showed up. We decided to just try and get some rest and figure out what to do in the morning and we woke up to strangers walking into our room!!!! The bar doesn’t even have basic items, such as vodka, Lime juice, Orange juice, Margarita mix, or any sort of frozen drinks, And the only soda they have is orange Fanta or Pepsi. No soda water, No sprite or 7-Up or some sort of citrus soda, No sour mix nothing. They only give two towels in the room, and the towels are disgustingly stained. When we eventually complained enough.. by the third day, they finally moved us into a room in the hotel building. There was air conditioning this room however it was infested with cockroaches . Buffet reused the food multiple times for breakfast lunch and dinner. It was just the same food picked over and over but they moved the trays to different parts of the buffet to make it look like they didn’t reuse it. I understand they are in financial crisis however, the sanitary conditions of the buffet is absolutely disgusting. We were starving for days and days. Thank God, I packed a couple snacks in my suitcase or else we would not be able to survive. The Sunwing representative would not answer any calls or emails. One of the emails they provided us with fake and it just said undeliverable. The phone number was out of service. We were finally able to meet with a representative at 4:30 PM the following day he was not able to do anything. All the staff didn’t really know what they were doing. When we pointed out the cockroaches in the food, they just said we know it’s fine. We told the manager in the buffet and she just smiled and laughed. None of the public bathrooms by the beach, in the lobby, or the buffet have toilet paper so make sure you bring Kleenex or something with you. Having to pay $17 USD per night To change room, even though it was completely out of our control that the rooms had no AC, were filthy, and Infested with bugs.I’ve never seen something so disgusting in my life. We have sent multiple emails and multiple phone calls and no one is responding.Our shuttle back to the airport was late and When we arrived to the airport, the Sunwing system was not working And they had to manually Check in hundreds of people in the airport. Handwriting every single boarding pass, and every single luggage tag. Once again, although we paid for elite, plus we still had to wait forever. The flight was delayed 1.75 hours.
