WestJet re-introduces itself to London with a Canadian twist on time-honoured British tradition
As international travel and tourism resumes, WestJet is re-introducing itself to London in a creative way with Hightea by WestJet, a delicious Canadian twist on a time-honoured British tradition.
In March of 2020, the airline opened Hightea by WestJet, a pop-up tea shop in the heart of London and invited Britain’s tea enthusiasts to exclusively sip on some of Canada’s most inspiring tea blends. The pop-up tea shop offered four signature blends that were created in partnership with Canadian owned brand, The Honest Leaf, to capture the essence of four iconic Canadian cities and WestJet destinations – Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax.
Inspired by the identity of their namesake, each tea gave Londoners a taste of Canada in a unique way:
Toronto | Black tea, Ginger, Apple, Yerba mate, Cardamom, Cinnamon
This tea is bold, caffeinated and energizing, representing the hustle and bustle of Canada’s biggest city, Toronto. From a vibrant nightlife to the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls, Toronto has something for every taste.
Halifax | Green tea, Calendula, Butterfly blue pea flower
This tea is smooth and savoury, like a sunny morning in Halifax looking out across the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Steep yourself in Atlantic Canada and experience the spectacular coastline and sea-side adventures.
Vancouver | Jasmine, Lavender, White Tea, Rose
This tea is delicate, beautiful and relaxing, all hallmarks of Vancouver’s laid-back, west coast vibe. On the edge of the Pacific Coast, Vancouver is intertwined with nature, culture and city life.
Calgary | Roasted barley, Honeybush, Green tea, Vanilla
This tea has a rugged texture and nutty flavour, an ode to the adventurous spirit of the wild west that you’ll find in Calgary. From the rolling foothills, dramatic badlands and towering Rocky Mountains, Calgary is your basecamp to adventure.
Hightea by WestJet was developed in partnership with Rethink to bring a taste of Canada to London with flights now departing London from both Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
