Beautiful resort, great beach, just go there!
Jason H (Rocky Mount, North Carolina, United States) on Nov 08, 2024
Went with this place on the fly, coming from a canceled cruise at the last minute. So glad we chose it, cause now we have a place that we will come back to. Great place, great service, beautiful well manicured grounds. Food at the buffets was a little better than normal, for what you find a resort buffets. The al la carte restaurants were all great. The beach is perfect and the water is wonderful for swiming.
Perfect getaway place

I think just about everyone browsing these review sites looks for a dreamy place to go on vacation, to take a rest, to celebrate something or simply to escape from the daily grind nonsense we have to deal day to day. I was surprised to get mediocre service from reception and reservations desks during my arrival. If I were on a short stay, I would continue to be disappointed and not even consider staying next time and even less recommend it. This issue was later addressed and I received an apology from management. I stayed for 9 days and had plenty of opportunities to see how good the service really was, to the point I became a club member and will keep going back in the future. Food is pretty good overall, there is something for everyone. Themed restaurants are very nice, make sure you reserve early. Buffets do a rotation of certain meals every day. Cleaning is spotless,-even places that are hard to reach in the room were dust free, quite impressive to be honest. All areas are carefully maintained and kept tidy. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Wifi is free and available almost anywhere, just take measures if you need to do activities such as online banking as it is an unprotected network. Laundry service is available at cost. Room service available, at cost. If you reserve a Level premium room then it’s included. Beach is gorgeous depending on where you walk. Some areas have rocks, but perfect to lounge as there are less people in those sections. If you walk a little there are gorgeous sandy areas on the sides where you could go and refresh, then do snorkel. I highly recommend for you to bring shoes to walk in the water, there are rocks and sometimes the sandy floor is uneven. Plenty of beach chairs. Shade is not an issue if you are willing to move your chair as the sun does its thing. Plenty of pools around the property, some specifically aimed for kids and others for adults. Ocean activities are available, at cost. There is a pedestrian way that goes right in front of the beach, so you could do a workout by walking up and down the different Barceló lobbies. Sunrises are a sweet treat, especially from the beach or the dock. Room was very clean and with plenty of drawer space to accommodate your clothes. There is a shuttle bus that takes you around the different facilities and returns about 20-30 mins which helps those who have difficulties with mobility. There are a couple shopping areas, prices were not bad at all. Fitness area was well equipped and clean. Summary: Top notch service Pretty beaches Plenty of activities and shows Variety of food and drink choices The following is a list of people that through their efforts made our experience very positive each time. Note: employees do give a QR code to obtain reviews, which is fine to me… at the end of the day we have the choice to respond and be honest in giving these reviews. Buffet Mirador -Gustavo Dzul -Roberto Ek -Antonio -Ismael Restaurante Caribe (Caribeño) -Manuel Ek -Erick Valenzuela -Fanny Rodas -Mario Cardenas Plaza Mexicana - Cuban Stogies (Legacy Colonial) -Héctor García; no QR code, he was just a very pleasant salesman! Safety (Lifeguard) -Enrique Sanchez Buffet Caribe -Abricel Canul -Jorge Camal -Sair Canche -Ramón Cabrieles Guys working at the towel place, Coco Bar, Palmeras Grill, Trattoria, La Fuente and Captain Morgan grill and the Lobby bar. Finally, a big thank you to all of the staff and the manager of Rodizio, their treatment was excellent from start to finish and the food was very tasty. Honestly, even the team pruning the coconut trees, the beach/pool cleaning crews every morning and evening working tirelessly to keep everything running smooth, the cleaning ladies, maintenance, bellboys…. amazing work performance from everyone.
