Overview
The Iberostar Selection Cancun is an All Inclusive luxury hotel standing on one of the world's most spectacular white sandy beaches. Its cleverly designed architecture enables guests to enjoy spectacular natural views and benefit from the invigorating sea breeze. It's the only hotel in Cancun to boast an 18-hole golf course, a luxury spa, an innovative fitness centre, a spectacular convention centre with 4,550 sq. m of versatile space, divisible into 22 meeting rooms and with 10,000 sq. m of outdoor space for events and celebrations. The facilities at the Iberostar Selection Cancun also include seven spectacular infinity pools, a professional football pitch, two tennis courts, a buffet restaurant, a snack bar, five themed restaurants, a modern sports bar, an ice cream parlour, a smokers' lounge and Star Cafe. There is also an extensive program of leisure activities for all the family, as well as an aqua park.

Iberostar Selection Cancun Fails on Room, Dining and Event Location

Paid extra for an oceanfront suite and the room had terrible wind noise caused by loose doors - doors rattled and kept us up every night. We contacted the hotel and told him about this during stay and they supposedly sent somebody up, but still no better. In fact worse the last night. I asked for at least one night comped upon check out and they would not do it instead referred me to IHG (who I called upon my return) and that’s just going into a black hole with nobody responding. Limited dining options and the lack of dining reservation system made dining at night nearly impossible. Expect to use buffet which was decent. We could only make reservations at the Benihana style restaurant, which was mediocre at best. I’ve stayed at other Iberostars and this was by far worst experience. I was also visiting this hotel to do a site visit/inspection for a business conference we were to host. No one could contact a sales rep to meet with finally last day i tried again and was given an email to contact — that person contacted me when we arrived home. We will obviously will not choose this hotel. I would not stay at this hotel ever again, terrible all inclusive experience in my opinion when you compare it to other Iberostar I have a video of the room with audio so you can hear noise.

We had a lovely stay here. Perhaps a bit understaffed at times in cafeteria/buffet areas but truly excellent overall. A special shoutout to Chef Daniel who went above and beyond to accommodate us. One of my kids has some sensory challenges with food and meals outside of the home can be difficult for us. Chef Daniel went above and beyond to prepare my kiddos safe food (grilled cheese) whenever and wherever possible. It truly made such a monumental impact on our ability to enjoy the trip. We are so grateful to chef Daniel for his kindness and talents.
