Friendly staff who will cater to your every need. Especially Wendy the bartender! She was great! Our room was clean and comfortable with turn down service at night. The gym had enough equipment for a decent workout. The spa was a lovely three hours.

Secrets review This was my second couples stay at Secrets Huatulco, and we noticed many improvements in our experience. The quality of restaurant dining was better overall and more consistent. The entertainment was better overall, especially the Christmas and New Year’s Eve shows, which took place on an outdoor stage rather than in the theatre. The live band was exceptionally talented. This resort likes events, such as outdoor taco night or al fresco buffets. There is a lot to like about this resort; it is the only hotel on Bahia de Conejos, so there is a lot of seclusion and space on the beach. Every room has an ocean view. There is lots of space around the pools, so there is no rat race for chairs or towels like other places. There are very few Balinese beds or private cabanas available. The public areas are cleaned constantly. The beach is swimmable and walkable. Housekeeping will make up the room in the morning and again in the evening. Staff are very attentive and accommodating. The hotel is very vertical: most of the common areas and restaurants are on the top level, and the pools/beach are at the bottom level, so there can be a wait, particularly if any of the three elevators are out of service. The Barefoot Grill is a standout; they will make tortilla chips and other pool eats fresh and to order. Chips will be served with a fist-sized scoop of fresh guacamole, and the burgers are fantastic. Cin Cin (Italian), Bordeaux (French), Tamarindo (Mexican), and Oceana (seafood) were excellent on this trip. We did use the spa, and it is high-quality. The hydrotherapy pool has the best views of the bay. We have been to other Secrets, and though Secrets Huatulco may not feel as opulent and luxurious, it makes up for it in the things that we value: peacefulness, spaciousness, relaxation, and breathtaking views. Entertainment options are more limited in Huatulco because the pool of local talent is shallower compared to Cancún. I am not sure why so many people think it is dated; I recall the resort opened in 2011! Everything worked fine in the room, and it was quiet, though the furniture was pretty plain. A shoutout to Alejandro and Amir on the entertainment team as they were a hoot.
