I’ve traveled all over the world and never written a review. Until now. If you’re looking for a place to relax- this isn’t it. There is not one place on this resort that is quiet. And, not the resort’s fault, but there is a club close by (I’d guess within half a mile) that BLARES music until 4AM. Not a typo. 4AM. From a half mile and 9 stories up, I can feel the bass. I can’t believe they can’t do some about this or more people haven’t complained, especially with younger kids. I worked and saved for this vacation and can’t even get a nights sleep. It’s absurd. And the resort? “Not our fault.” That’s it. Not an offer to move rooms, nothing. Want to sit by the pool or beach after dinner? Don’t plan on being able to speak to anyone. It’s that loud. On top of which, the resort plays their own music! Add to that an exceptionally and overwhelmingly rude sales staff that only care about selling you an upgrade and care nothing about your current member status. Short story- customer service is non-existent. And I’ve been a member for 10 years. Manager told me that they “can’t alter my contract”… unless I buy something else that would supersede the prior. Food is average to fair. Have to make reservations for the nicer restaurants which seem to be perpetually booked. Interestingly, you can book your excursions in advance (because they sell them!) but you can’t book reservations for dinner more than 48 hours in advance. To spend that kind of money, you shouldn’t have the stress of trying to book a place for your family for dinner. The “family suite” was not a suite. It was 2 connected rooms so, you guessed it, they could charge you for a second room. Apparently, I was an entitled to a 60% discount on this week when I booked *through the resort that I didn’t know about until I got here. And when I found out, they told me it expired next year, they can’t extend it (unless I buy an upgrade of course) and wouldn’t consider a credit. There’s a ton more but you get the idea. I can’t wait to *never* come back here.

I rarely write reviews, but this time it’s warranted. I read all reviews with a grain of salt, but in this case it’s even worse than I expected (and I set my expectations low based on the other reviews). The best description is that it’s like Great Wolf Lodge disguised as a 5-star resort, which admittedly might great be for some but it’s not what we expected nor paid for. Or, perhaps a medium-budget cruise but with 5-star prices. 1) the resort credits are worthless. For example, WITH the credits a family of three has to pay over $300 to go to the local zip line “activity center” to take part in their three activities for a couple hours. 2) it takes 2 hours MINIMUM to get here from the airport. Not the 90 minutes quoted elsewhere. I think I’m actually being generous, as ours took over 3 hours. 3) as a family, we’re not here to partake in late nights. We were relaxing in our room when at 9pm extremely loud music began outside our room. It feels like we don’t even have windows. We actually double checked to make sure our sliding glass door wasn’t ajar. It wasn’t. Not. 5-Star. In any way.
