A very clean family friendly resort. Wonderful, smiling staff. It's an easy 1.5K walk to the Malecon where there are all the restaurants and shops you would ever need. Only knock would be a bigger 'adult' pool. They will try and get you to endure a sales pitch to buy into their Premier Suites.

We stayed at the Buenaventura for one week over the Christmas break. This is a small but very clean and well-kept property just a few blocks from the Malecon (the central esplanade in PV). We found the service and the food to be very good, and the house keeping to be on point. There are a few daily events and the nightly entertainment typically consists of a lounge singer. Pretty tame stuff, but what you'd anticipate at a resort of this size. My only beefs were that the ocean is quite rough (red flags were out most of our stay) and there are endless vendors on the beach - they aren't aggressive, but there is no end to them. I suspect the resort can't do much about these issues, as they are pretty typical for PV. I've read a number of reviews complaining about insufficient bottled water in the rooms, but this seems silly to me. An endless supply of fresh water is available at every bar and restaurant, and there are two water stations at the fitness center. A non issue. Overall, best for young families or vacationers who simply wish to relax and take it easy.
