The property is old with infrastructure issues resulting in luke warm showers and a frequent smell of sewer line down by the pool area. We have been here many times in spite of the older property because the staff was fabulous. (10 times over 8 years) Now the same reason we previously put up with the property decay is the reason we won't be back again-- the staff. They do not hustle and they exhibit an attitude that they don't care or even pretend to care. As a result the food is served cold, the drinks take forever and food is mediocre tasting at best. We did their NYE experience and all the courses were the wrong temperature! The towels are old and rough from over use both at the pool and in the rooms, the cleanliness of the pool is questionable since it has been cloudy for 2 days. Overall this place used to be much better, much cleaner and staffed with nice people -- now it is not recommendable. They are under new ownership and well that could be the very reason.

The staff at Costa Sur are so friendly and helpful. The service is great and the housekeeping is awesome. I would highly recommend a stay at Costa Sur. We ate our dinner out but at breakfast in the poolside restaurant daily and it was delicious.
