We were here five years ago and enjoyed it, but it has gone downhill. Very busy, with added guests from multiple cruise ships. Beautiful beach but not near enough umbrellas. And its hot. The pools too - no... shade and not enough loungers. No clean beach towels- we used the same ones for days. One entire day the water was shut down in the whole resort. Intermittent electricity outages. Workers were scrambling trying to keep up in the buffet. Hard to find a place in the buffet, or to get a place setting, or water. The food was awful. To get an al a carte restaurant, you have to line up - sometimes for hours!! I was really sick here two full days, as were many other guests we talked to. Don't bother. We couldn't wait to go home.

My stay at the Gran Ventana was amazing. The food and the service were outstanding. The entertainment was great. The staff were very accoadating. From the entertainment staff, Bryan's performance as Michae...l Jackson was fantastic it was so good it made me cry. A must-see!!
