The Resort is nice but the food is not good at all and you can only eat at the restaurants 1 time for a 4 night stay other times you have to eat at the buffet where the fo...od is never hot just warm. The rooms is nice need to be updated the drinks are not strong my advise is to buy you a bottle from airport and add to your drinks or make your own .

Pool and beach was good , food was good and service and grounds were good. Our room wasn't the greatest. But we chose the cheapest place. I can complain to much. We decided to go the last minute. Nice plac...e other than the room
too much noise
innag1220 (New York City, New York) on May 12, 2025
small place and too much loud entertainment. At times blasting your head. Not bad rooms and food, but constant loud and rhythmic music drives you crazy. If music was played that loudly in my city, policy ...would be called. Absolutely unbearable, I don't know who can enjoy it. Even on the beach is noisy as neighboring Marine plays very loud music too. Go there if you like to vacation inside of the boom box
Occidental Costa Cancún – A Great Beach Hotel with a Few Minor Quirks

What I Loved ?? Location & Beach Access The resort sits on a calm stretch of Caracol Beach, just a five-minute walk from the hotel lobby. You can grab your umbrella and towels from the front desk, head do...wn to the soft white sand, and have a clear view of the shallow turquoise water—perfect for snorkeling or just floating on a tube. Spacious Pool Area Two lagoon-style pools (one adults-only, one family) wrap around the main building. Each has built-in loungers and swim-up bars. Even at peak noon hours, it never felt overcrowded. Friendly, Helpful Staff From check-in to check-out, every team member greeted me by name. Shout-out to Jesús at Reception, who helped me rebook a snorkeling excursion when my boat was canceled at the last minute. What Was Just Okay ?? Room Size & Amenities My junior suite was clean and well-appointed, with a king bed, minibar, and a small balcony overlooking the pool. However, the bathroom had only a single small sink, and the shower pressure was a bit weak. A kettle for tea or coffee would’ve been a nice touch at breakfast time. A La Carte Restaurants Included with the all-inclusive plan, you get one free dinner at each specialty venue. I tried the Italian spot (good pasta, but the service was slow), and the Mexican grill (flavorful tacos but limited menu). You’ll want to reserve at least two days in advance—especially during high season. What Could Improve ?? Wi-Fi Connectivity In-room Wi-Fi dropped out a couple of times each evening. It was fast in the lobby and by the pool, though—so if you need a video call connection, aim for those spots. Gym Equipment The fitness center has cardio machines and weights, but only one treadmill and one set of dumbbells above 12 kg. If you’re serious about your workout, plan on peak-off hours or bring resistance bands. Tips & Recommendations Sunset Yoga: Free beach yoga at 6 PM every day—show up early for a front-row mat spot. Early Breakfast: The buffet opens at 7 AM; get there by 7:30 AM for the freshest fruit and omelet station before the crowds. Excursion Desk: Book your Isla Mujeres boat tour right when you arrive—slots fill up fast. Dress Code: Smart-casual is enforced in the a la carte restaurants after 8 PM (no flip-flops or sleeveless shirts for men). Final Verdict: A solid 4 out of 5 stars. Occidental Costa Cancún hits the sweet spot between value and quality: gorgeous pools, attentive service, and direct beach access. If you want a few more luxury touches—like spa-worthy bathrooms or high-end gym gear—you may prefer stepping up to a 5-star property. But if you’re after a relaxed, all-inclusive beach getaway with plenty of on-site dining and activities, this is a great choice.
