Dreams made our dreams come true!!!

Candace R (Pearland, Texas) on Dec 14, 2024

Dreams is a resort that is like no other! All inclusive is the perk and I expected that but what I didn’t expect was the amazing attention from the staff and how they took care of my husband and I from arrival to departure. We were greeted by the nicest staff Isaiah and Juan. Juan took care of us the whole time by letting us know about entertainment, resort perks, room accommodations, and set up our reservations back to the airport after our stay. whatever we asked for or needed, he was there! The staff made this place feel like home. I came as a guest and left as family member. My husband and I are bringing our whole family in a month because we loved it so much!! Thank you Juan, Isaiah, and staff for giving us the 20th. anniversary/ 50th. birthday of our dreams… I guess that’s why they call it Dreams!!!!

Very nice beach resort.

Chris G on Dec 13, 2024

We spend a week here and had a great time. The beaches are amazing, there are plenty of pools, bars, and restaurants. Lots of things for kids to do including a "kids club" where you can drop them off and pick them up later in the day. There are also a lot of fun activities, movies, BBQs, shows, games, and archery (shout out to Berenice, who was very nice to my son and I). There's even a place where you can swim with the dolphins, but be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars to download some digital photos. If I had any complaints, it's that the restaurants seem to fill up fast. If you don't get there right when they open at 6, you'll be waiting an hour. Also, the hot tubs weren't hot at all, some were basically the same temperature as the pool. Still, a great place overall, especially if you have kids.

Couples stay - Dreams Playa Mujeres from Toronto, CAD ????

Samantha S on Dec 13, 2024

We just got back from our stay at Dreams for our anniversary, just the two of us and we had visited from Toronto, Canada. It is most definitely a family resort and not so much a couples resort but you have full access to the Secrets Playa Mujeres next door which is adults only which is a great addition as you can go to any restaurant and use any of their amenities at any time. We went for lunch and dinner and used their pool sometimes and it was great. There is a golf cart that they have that runs from Secrets to dreams as guests can come and go as they please which is a great addition as well. As far as service and food, it was wonderful. I have absolutely no complaints for any of this category. Service was wonderful, staff were always very attentive towards us, whether it was at the pool, the bars, the restaurants, buffet or room service/housekeeping. Absolutely 100% amazing service and the best I have ever received at an all inclusive. Food was also pretty good for an all inclusive. We don’t usually expect much from these types of places as they cook differently or don’t have the same items but the food was all around very good and we didn’t run into any issues with it. The buffet had lots of options from authentic to American and the al a carte restaurants for dinner also had good choices and plating and food quality was good. I would comment only on the Mexican restaurant as I believe they could maximize their menu a bit better and food quality but it still was good all around. As far as the evening restaurants, my only complaint would be that they don’t accept reservations so it’s first come first serve when you want to eat and they don’t recommend going between 7-8:30 which is prime dinner time. Every single time we ate, we either had to go and put our name on the waitlist and take a buzzer and wait for one hour or sometimes one and a half hours or we would know to eat later than 9pm to get a spot. The teppyanki is the only restaurant you can make a reservation for and you can only do it on their app and it’s only open from 1-2pm everyday and it fills up within the first 5 minutes or it glitches and you are stuck with a 10pm dinner time like we had. I would recommend to the resort to change this policy as I know several other people complained about the same time. With that being said these restaurants had great food and great service but no one wants to wait on a waiting list, reservation systems are way better and easier. Housekeeping was great, no issues at all. We had a lovely maid named Irene and she always tried to go above and beyond for us and ask us all the time if we needed any towels or anything at all. She greeted us with chocolate, introduced herself and we even dropped one of our clothing items from the balcony and she was nice enough to go and retrieve it for us. No issues with cleanliness in the room, the room was looked at or cleaned almost 3 times a day which was amazing and towels was never an issue. Sometimes they would come and knock on the door just to ask if you wanted extra towels or needed anything more in your mini fridge for drinks even after they had already come for the day. This was 100% wonderful and again one of the best I have ever had at an inclusive for cleanliness and housekeeping. Pool, beach, resort and landscaping was great. Resort is absolutely beautiful and fairly large and they maintain it very well. I always saw workers around the pool or at the beach fixing or doing something which was wonderful. Beach had barely any seaweed at all, very well maintained. It would be great if the resort could add a sports bar or some more activities as besides the pool and beach, there isn’t much to do. They do have a teen zone with a pool table and rock climbing but it’s exclusive for 12-17 which would be nice if it was welcome to anyone who doesn’t always like to be at the pool. Lazy river was nice but only for preferred club members so it would be nice if other guests got to use as well. The water slides are a nice addition and were fun for all ages. It would be great if they could add some more shops as they had two gift shops which were fairly small with the same items and not much selection to buy from for merchandise. Other resorts we have been too that are family friendly usually have bowling or mini golf and this resort definitely has access for one or more of these features which would be nice to see them add or a sports bar. Theatre was good and large but kind of out of the way near the lobby entrance so not a lot of people attend the shows. Shows could definitely improve but overall wasn’t a let down, pretty good. We enjoyed the spa and did a 50 min couples massage which was nice. The sauna and steam room are pretty intense but again we just don’t enjoy these features much in our own opinion but they are nice if you enjoy those things. Golf was great, they arrange a shuttle to bring you to the course, which is only just a bit down the road near the Atelier resort. Clubhouse is beautiful, driving range and rental clubs were amazing. Service was good, cleanliness of the course and carts were good. I would recommend playing the golf if you enjoy to play and you wish to spend out of pocket as it’s not included. Overall the stay was great and we had no major issues, I would recommend people with families looking for a higher end resort to stay here or I would recommend couples who want a bigger resort and more things but still want the option of privacy and no children to stay here as you can use secrets amenities as you please

Disappointment at Playa Mujeres: A Vacation to Forget

Vicky D on Dec 11, 2024

Our much-anticipated first vacation with our three-year-old daughter was, unfortunately, overshadowed by a series of frustrating experiences at [Resort Name]. If you are considering staying here, please take a moment to read about our experience before booking. 1. Lackluster Service: Despite paying for the preferred club package, basic requests were met with indifference. One evening, we asked for a couple of juice boxes for our daughter—a simple ask, considering the resort’s all-inclusive promise—and after hours of waiting and repeated calls, we gave up. 2. Subpar Accommodations: Our room was far from what we expected. The bedding had noticeable stains, which was unacceptable, especially when traveling with a young child. To make matters worse, our ocean view room balcony overlooked a noisy construction site. Instead of tranquil ocean waves or lush greenery, we were serenaded by the beeping of trucks and the clanging of machinery. Every now and then we also get whiff of sewage. The garbage disposal area is directly underneath us, which is where I think the smell is coming from. Terribly positioned rooms. When we requested a room change, the staff informed us the hotel was fully booked—a claim that seemed implausible given the eerily empty premises. Their solution? A “deep clean” of our room, which did little to address the noise and poor ambiance. 3. Terrible Food: Dining was one of the most disappointing aspects of our stay. While we don’t expect gourmet meals at an all-inclusive resort, the food here was borderline inedible. Dishes were bland, poorly prepared, and far from the fresh and flavorful cuisine we’ve enjoyed at other resorts. This was particularly frustrating because we wanted to ensure a wholesome dining experience for our daughter. Final Thoughts: We are not overly demanding travelers and can usually overlook minor inconveniences, but this stay tested our patience on every level. From the subpar service to the uninspiring amenities, it felt like the resort was more focused on cutting corners than creating memorable experiences for its guests. If you’re looking for a vacation destination that values its guests and delivers on its promises, we recommend exploring other options. For now, we’ll be looking back on this trip as a lesson in what to avoid for future travels. Pro Tip: Always read reviews from recent guests before booking—we wish we had.

Family Vacation in Dreams Playa Mujeres

talisatan (Santa Clarita, California) on Dec 10, 2024

We had a great experience during our stay in this resort. We had two rooms and one of which was upgraded to ocean view and the other to a swim out room! I personally stayed at the swim out room and it was very comfortable and had such great view! Staff was so attentive especially our personal concierge, Juan. All of my queries and requests were handled by him and he catered to us that made our stay even more comfortable. The resort itself was lovely. Food was 90% great too! It was our parents’ first time in Mexico and they’re already asking when we are coming back!
