Sun Palace Exceeds Expectations, Again!

Our recent stay at Sun Palace, exceeded our expectations once again. My husband and I stayed March 18 through March 25th, but our stay started long before that, with our meticulous Concierge, Jose Luis Al...varez. We had the best itinerary, which took us and our family to the Grand, as well as organizing wine tasting and our family dinner at LeBlanc Cancun and The Grand. Jose Luis is so sweet and accommodating, it was “our pleasure” to meet him. He was on point with every request and our room that was assigned was outstanding and was kept tidy on a daily basis by Magdalena. When Jose Luis was off, Samuel Lopez stepped in and assisted us even though he was on vacation. Amazing DC staff! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the bellman, Samuel, who remembered us from our previous stays and was prompt with our baggage. We absolutely love Samuel, he is so sweet and always saying hello when he sees us throughout our stay. The food was absolutely amazing. You can tell that they have been working on the quality. Every morning, we ate at the buffet in Aurora and were greeted by a smiling Brisa and were promptly sat with our old friend from Isla Palace, Juan Guinto. Both made the start to our day more than amazing with their hugs and smiles. We dined at night twice each at Trattoria and Fuego and felt like royalty with our tables decorated with flowers and prepared in advance awaiting our arrival. We know that our friend, Fresia Vergara, had a lot to do with these preparations, but that Efrain, Monica, and others were there assisting her to make our dinners extra special. The food at both was amazing! And, we highly recommend trying these restaurants when you visit. We look forward to trying the new menu at Aurora the next time we visit. We hear that it is highly recommended! Heading to the pool each day at Sun Palace can be quite the event, however, we were greeted with reserved chairs in the area that we requested. It was at the pool that our concierge, Ricky Lira always went above and beyond, along with Jose Gabriel Alcocer. Jose Gabriel remembers us from years ago and always make sure that we have our “coca cola” in a can. If you haven’t tried it, you really need to. Let’s not forget the entertainment staff that is in the pool by day, and the Ocean Ballroom at night…lead by Alexander Oliva…Stefany, Pedro, Roberto, Allan, and last but not least, Jonathan Zurita kept us more than entertained. Honestly, they are by far our favorite entertainment team out of all of the Palace Resorts. We were invited to the Dolce Opera event in the VIP lounge. What an amazing event MC’d by Pedro and hosted by the sommelier, Alejandra. Our friends had recommended it so when we were invited, of course we said yes! The singer was outstanding and the wine, drink and dessert pairings were amazing! Another win by Sun Palace! On a few occasions, we ventured to The Bar for the nightly entertainment. Our favorite was the Rock Band. The Bar has some of the best bartenders at Palace Resorts. Mario Alberto Pech Canche has, during each of our stays, gone above and beyond and does it with a smile. While we don’t pick favorites, it goes without saying that Mario is in our Top 10 of the Best Palace Bartenders. He is partnered with Karina, and again, she greets you with a smile and is always making sure your drinks don’t go empty. Every time we visit Cancun we have to make a dinner stop at Habibi at The Grand. This is my husband’s favorite restaurant. Here we were greeted with a hug from our friend, Martin Espinoza, one of the sommeliers at The Grand. He also picked a couple of the best bottles of wine that paired amazingly with all of the food that our family had selected. After dinner, we went to Kassette, the karaoke bar, where our friend Estaban (now a server at the Olympic Pool) assisted in reserving a table for us. We were promptly greeted by Ulysses (the server) and Bryan (the MC) who remembered us from the last time we stayed at The Grand and were more than accommodating to our group of 6. Our family said that it was such a fun time! We spent another day off-property at LeBlanc Cancun because our aunt, uncle, and cousins were staying there during the same time. We made a last minute decision to spend the day there and surprise our family. When we arrived at LeBlanc, we went straight to the pool and the Pool Concierge (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) went above and beyond to find us pool chairs for 6! She was attentive all day and was super sweet. Next time, I will have to get her name!!! We took full advantage of the facilities, eating at the pool, taking a quick nap in our courtesy room and then getting ready for dinner with our family. Our aunt and uncles butler, Bylijoel, was so accommodating and assisted us with all of our requests even though we were only there for the day! While we were there, we were also greeted by an old Isla friend with hugs and smiles and the best hospitality from Pilar Garrido. Our day at LeBlanc was very pleasant and relaxing. Definitely a must-do. The day of our departure, we had a late check-out. Jose Luis and Viviana went above and beyond to ensure our day had a smooth departure and the check out process was seamless. Unfortunately, this was the band-cutting day, but we know we will be back again and again to spend time at Sun Palace. Next time we return, we are excited to bring our kids who are now old enough to join us finally! It goes without saying that each and everyone mentioned, and even those that weren’t, are absolutely amazing and deserve all of the accolades as they make our stay perfect each and every time.

Great time, we loved our PC - Danny!!! She's GREAT! Edondido is excellent! Alejandra Camacho & Fresia Vergara are amazing!! 15/5 over the top great! Jose (DC) was very good as well! Adrian (Trattoria) abso...lute professional! Jesus & Estrella (AM Aurora) are always great!! Attentive and overall so nice to see! Ricardo (Thai) was AMAZING!!!!!!! He was great! Made the whole experience so nice and special! The bartenders at "The Bar" are always soo good to us! Gabriel at the VIP bar was very attentive and great overall, makes the visit so nice and enjoyable! Efferan at Aurora made a special trip to greet us and make us feel welcome and he is always very gracious as well as his entire staff! The food at Aurora is one of our favorites. Ricardo at Thai not only made the visit great but the food was sooo good as usual! We loved it! There are soo many great staff members to list and remember, sadly I probably don't have everyone's names! Pool staff: Danny (PC) Ricky (PC) Edondido, Daniel, Orlando and Silvio are so good! Love seeing them and they are great to us every time! Our DC Jose was very attentive and timely with responses and addressing any changes or needs we had. Overall we love this resort and it's the people & food they are both amazing! The drinks to!
