Great Stay At The Strip

jlee9355 (Seattle, Washington) on May 03, 2025

I had a great time staying at The Venetian. The rooms are huge, more like suites, and definitely bigger than most places on the Strip. The pool area and Canyon Ranch spa are amazing, and the casino is brig...ht, lively, and one of my favorite spots to play. Since The Venetian is on the pricier side, you expect top-notch everything. The suites, though, feel a bit old-school and could use a modern makeover to keep up with the competition. The rest of the resort and casino totally holds its own against other high-end spots. I would definitely come back here!

Poor system, service and construction

Mihai T on May 02, 2025

I caution anyone staying at this hotel because it's very possible they will get your blood pressure up, and inconvenience you (to put it lightly), as well as engage in dishonest billing and other represent...ations. FIRST - CONSTRUCTION. I've stayed here three times in the last few months. The first time the jack hammering (no joke) was so loud I was basically yelling at the front desk person on the phone saying I needed a new room. They apologized and said there was a mix up, refunded resort fees and upgrade charges. No harm no foul. Mistakes happen. p.s. Oh, forgot, water got shut off and they forgot to mention that. SECOND TIME - I came with my team from our company. Specifically requested to be away from construction. Told them what happened last time. Despite their assurances, all 4 of the rooms I booked were next to construction (jack hammer was back, no exaggeration). I wasn't happy but we had a busy schedule and weren't gonna be in the rooms a lot, so they refunded resort fees and I moved on. I get it, mistakes with construction. THIRD TIME - I came, asked to be away from construction since I was really tired of the jack hammer and apology routine and, amazingly, they offered me an upgraded room (so if you're tracking this you have to pay extra to be away from construction), which I paid for hoping this time it really would be away from construction. Everything went smoothly until I had to extend my stay. No problem, went down to the Invited Guest Desk and extended it, signed, they charged my card, or so I thought because they asked for it, I put it in the machine and signed. Next morning, when I wasn't around, they checked me out. Called me and told me I had abandoned my stuff in the room. When I got to the front desk and explained I had extended my stay, she said "she saw a note I had be quoted for an extension, but that I never extended." This means I must have had a psychotic episode where I made the whole thing up, or, less likely in her opinion, their was a glitch in their system. She proceeded to tell me she had no idea what I signed yesterday, but next time I should read everything really carefully and not rely on what the front desk person tells me. Anyone actually do that at a hotel when they are extending or checking in? Guess you should at this one, don't trust what they tell you, read the fine print. Turns out, they amended my previous reservation incorrectly and had to create a new one (I found this out because I called to try understand what happened yesterday). The bottom line is, they wasted an hour of my time and made me feel like a idiot for bringing it up. Oh, they also charged me more to extend then they quoted the day before, an omission the front desk lady explained. They had me over a barrel now so it's not like I had a choice. Look mistakes happen. I know, I've made plenty, but as much as I like this hotel, their systems and training need a lot of work AND WATCH OUT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION. They won't tell you its happening and it is at all hours despite what they tell you. If you're booking here expect to pay more to get the experience you think you're gonna get. And before you go, he's one of those guys, let me assure you I'm not. I tend to keep my head down and only write reviews when my experience is exceptional, good or bad. This is bad bad bad many times in a row now. Maybe I'm lucky, so if you like the kind of luck you get at this casino, make your reservation. ;-) In conclusion, I like this resort and I hope this review doesn't fall on deff ears, and they make improvements as a result. But, I have to strongly recommend you stay somewhere else until they learn that service, honesty, and how you treat people when you mess up is important to running a successful business.

Nice room, Poor service

Alice C on May 02, 2025

The room was spacious and nice but it had an unpleasant odor when we first walked in. We also had security barge in with no warning on day 2 because we had the privacy sign on the door during our stay. The...y would not even let us get fully dressed first after we asked. We also had a bad experience with in service dining. Our food was an hour late with no apology. They forgot the dessert and had to go get that as well. Overall convenient location and nice room. Service left much to be desired.
