Relaxing time in Samara

My wife and I travelled to Cost Rica for the first time in April 2025. We were looking for a relaxing and chill resort to celebrate our honeymoon. This resort delivered! The food was great and offered a go...od selection over our 10-day stay. Many reviews speak of the excellent staff, and they all ring true! From Alejandro and Jasmin mixing fabulous cocktails to the serving staff - Axel, Davey, Danny and Angela (and others) doing their best to make the stay memorable and fun...we enjoy it very much. We were lucky enough to meet some other wonderful Canadians, which we are happy to now call friends. I would recommend this resort to those looking for a relaxing time in Cost Rica. Excellent Azura Resort.

My wife and I visited Costa Rica for the first time from Canada. The Azura was perfect for us. Small intimate resort, beautifully designed. The staff were absolutely the best. Alejandro, Jazmin and Ang...ie were fantastic in the bars..A big thanks to you! I can’t say enough about all the staff. David, Johnny, Axle, Harold , Luz, Deni were all FANTASTICO! Pura Vida my friends with big hearts. You work so hard. Cheers

My husband and I visited azura Samara April 07-14. We chose this resort as it was our honeymoon and first time travelling without children and to Costa Rica. We had such an amazing experience! The staff ...are great, a HUGE thank you to ANGIE and ALEJANDRO for their amazing service. Whether they were mixing drinks or serving us for breakfast they always had a smile, positive attitude and were so friendly and professional! They truly made our week! And made us feel so comfortable. We will definitely be going back and I will say it is because of these two amazing people. Alejandro really knows how to create the perfect drink, and Angie as well! They make it look so easy! The food was amazing! So delicious, especially the TAO. Our servers Jonathan and David always made great suggestions and made our Asian cuisine experience at TAO always a great time. Same for the breakfast, they always greeted us with a smile and kind words every morning whether it was 6am and they were serving us late the night before. All 4 of these staff are truly amazing and such hard workers! (They all are, but these 4 really made a positive impact on our holiday) If you’re looking for a relax, calm, all inclusive resort and want to be served by some amazing people in a sweet town in Costa Rica this is the spot for you! I also want to give a thank you to the house keeping manager he was truly professional and made sure every need was met in our room! Thank you again azura!

Honest Review of Our All-Inclusive Stay – Some Highs, Some Lows

We recently returned from a 10-day stay at this all-inclusive resort and wanted to share an honest review of our experience. There were definitely some highlights, but also a number of disappointments we w...ish we had known about in advance. PROS: The absolute best part of this resort was the staff. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Special shoutout to Alejandro, Angie, Jarold, Eddy, and Axel – they were friendly, attentive, and added so much warmth to our stay. Their hospitality was a big highlight for us and really stood out. CONS: Unfortunately, several aspects of the resort fell short of expectations: Lack of A/C: Aside from our room, there was no air conditioning throughout the resort – including in the restaurants. This made dining and relaxing indoors quite uncomfortable and really should be advertised ahead of time. “Garden View” Room: We booked a Garden View, but the view was of a parking lot and a newly built pickleball court – not quite the lush scenery we had in mind. Special Occasion Overlooked: We were celebrating a 40th anniversary and a birthday, but other than a simple "Happy Birthday" message on the bed when we arrived, the resort did nothing to acknowledge the occasion. Room Issues: Our room was missing some basic furniture – no couch, and even no garbage can, which was surprising. Restaurant Closures: Many on-site restaurants were closed frequently. Chill & Grill, for example, was closed four out of our ten days, limiting variety. Sister Resort Buffet: The buffet at the sister property was very disappointing. The selection was extremely limited – mostly salads, fruit, and one type of meat. Pool Concerns: The pool water was noticeably dirty for five out of the ten days, and the infinity side of the pool wasn’t functioning properly because there wasn’t enough water to allow it to flow. This was a letdown considering the importance of the pool area in a resort experience. Overall: While the staff made our stay feel warm and welcoming, the resort itself didn’t quite live up to expectations – especially for such a special occasion. With a few improvements and more transparency in their advertising, this could be a much better experience. As it stands, we’d recommend managing your expectations and reading reviews carefully before booking.

Azura Hotel in Samara, Costa Rica, is a hidden gem! The food was incredible, featuring fresh local seafood and delicious tropical fruit . The beach is just steps away, perfect for relaxing. A special shou...tout to bartender ALEJANDRO at the hotel pool bar, his cocktails were the best, expertly crafted and refreshing. Highly recommended!
