Dated, but nice staff, nice guests.

Great staff, great guests. Place is very dated. 27th floor room needs some TLC. Main bathroom shower tub is an odd combination. The tub is extremely large jacuzzi size but no jets. The finishings are fal...ling off the faucet. The lighting is very low. AC is ok, will do but got through the night. Fan in living room was not working, windows were hard to open. Rails need to be cleaned. The shampoo has odd smell even though its of honey. The windows don't close properly. Drains drain very slowly. They try to maintain but it is not up to 5 star standards. The pools are very busy with LOTS of locals & kids. When we found the adult pool things were calmer. Erik was an excellent waiter. Very attentive & quick, he made the place receive 3 stars. The loud bands on beach, was a bit much. Used to seeing staff at other resorts keep beach area clean, didn't see that happen here. Elevators were not maintained clean fresh, they were stuffy & hot. They didn't give out any schedules of activities. We are glad we did not get the all inclusive, many of the guests in pool complained the food was awful. We ate across the street that had many great clean choices. The balcony needs a lot of upgrades, lights flickering, tight area. Looks like they paint a lot but not properly maintain the property. For locals this seems to be a 5 start but not for guests used to 5 star facilities. Local people are very nice, the driver Oman in the Pulmonía cars was excellent. Safe simple humble town for tourists.

What a wonderful visit. I go to Mazatlán often but it has been a few years since I’ve stayed at El CID on the beach. Love the adult pool and spa, both perfectly heated. Wonderful view from our room. And M...artin and his son Marco were awesome and so attentive with food and drinks. I never do an all inclusive in Mazatlán, so many restaurants to try and all so reasonable. F.IS.H, Hectors, coconut shrimp at La Marea, Rico’s, Totem…they always deliver. A beautiful, relaxing time.
