Terrible guest services

Barry K on Mar 29, 2025

This hotel does not care about its guests. We had a running toilet for our whole 2 week stay. We asked them 3 times and they either ignored us or sent somebody that didn’t fix it. One of their “fixes” was ...just turning off the water to our toilet. My wife came back to the room one time and found one of their cleaning staff using our washroom. One time the cleaning staff left our room door wide open when they left. Apparently it had been left open for over an hour. We called the front desk to let them know we needed a new key card for our safe. They said the would send somebody up and nobody ever showed up and I had to go get the card from the front desk myself. Room service got our orders wrong more than once. All of this was brought to the hotel’s attention and they did nothing. No compensation. Hollow apology only. That being said, the entertainment staff were fantastic. Fun and friendly. They get full points. The food was decent, although if you have a late reservation at the a la carts, they sometimes run out of food. While there were good points, I would never stay at Bahia Principe Runaway Bay again.

Amazing 50th birthday celebration. The food was good the resort was in great shape. Davon from entertainment team was really helpful and the bar staff were really. Only issue was the disco closed. Would lo...ve to see the live bands every night. But all and all it was a great stay.

Day excursion

Ron N (Cloyne, Ontario) on Mar 26, 2025

The resort was excellent , rooms were very clean and well maintained .It was not real busy but services were top notch from all resort staff . The Coming2 service was OK getting to and from , JUST make sur...e that your departure time is clearly marked on the slip you'll get from the rep when you book departure . We did the boatride, snorkel and lunch at Sharky's excursion , HUGE disappointment , Sharky's was the worst part of it , greasy over priced food that we had to wait over an hour for , then there's cats and dogs running around waiting for handouts. the beach area there was littered with a lot of debris( garbage) so that you really didn't want to even walk the beach. Best part of the time spent there was talking with the spear fishermen that came in while we were waiting . The boat ride to and from was good , the guys were very entertaining and did a great job , snorkeling was ok , not a lot of fish to see but that could have been the day . They would be much better to offer a boat ride , snorkel and some more cruising along the shore than stopping at Sharky's .

Don't Go to Jamaica Bahia Principe Luxery

Compass22572229580 on Mar 26, 2025

This resort has serious management issues that need to be addressed. I am suspecting this is due to the BP merging with Hyatt and the staff are unsure of how long they will have jobs. If you order room s...ervice, expect it to take 1-2 hours to arrive, and only expect 50% of what you ordered. If you want your room cleaned daily and the fridge restocked - think again! We experienced 6 days in a row where we had to call in order to get someone clean the room and restock the fridge with water. We never put the do not disturb sign on the door. Expect Coming2 to sell excursions to you where you may not be able to partipate. They will not discuss refunds or alternate excursions once they have your money. For example we purchased the Dunn Falls Excursion. The representative was fully aware that I had a full knee replacement. When we arrived at the facility, the tour staff seen the scar and immediately advised I could not participate. This is not a fault with the actual excursion facility, but rather an issue with Coming2 for even selling this excursion to us. They refused to refund me.

Fabulous week at the Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay

marilyncP6066FP (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) on Mar 25, 2025

This was our 2nd visit. We went last year and enjoyed it so much that we chose to return this year. Check in went smoothly. We were assigned to Andale, who showed us to our rooms and helped us make dinn...er reservations at the specialty restaurants. We did make a few reservations from home before we left, on the APP, but she was able to adjust times for us, which we greatly appreciated. We were on the Luxury side. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The refrigerator was re-stocked daily. There was plenty of hot water and hot tubs in the bathrooms. The beach is clean. There are several areas where you can camp out. The resort was at about half capacity, so we had no trouble finding beach chairs and palapas. We love to snorkel. There is very good snorkeling right at the resort in warm shallow water. We saw small rays, lion fish, crabs and many tropical fish. If it is calm, the life guard might look the other way and allow you to swim around the wall behind the central gazebo where the snorkeling is fantastic. We also booked a snorkeling trip at the resort, from the dive shop, which took us to a nice spot about 15 minutes away ($45 each). Food at the buffets was very good. The scrambled eggs were excellent. The pineapple was perfect. Our favorite specialty restaurant was the Asian Fusion. We all loved our meals and specialty cocktails. The waiter was fabulous. We liked our meals at the Knife and Italian restaurants also. The drinks, overall, at the resort were good. The bartenders were great and there were waiters on the beach also. We were surprised to find that there was a charge for the Jamaica show and the St. Patrick's Day party this year. We did enjoy the free lobby entertainment each evening. We heard that the resort has been bought by Hyatt. Some staff confided that they were worried about their jobs. We heard that the family side of the resort would we closing for renovations. We booked a private trip to go shopping in Ocho Rios, the Blue Hole and snorkeling at Mahogany beach. You should ask for Vernon as your guide at the blue Hole. He was very good. Our driver was Oneil Bolt 876-576-1024 ONeil_Bolt@yahoo.com. He did a fantastic job and was extremely personable. He will customize any trip for you. He will also do airport transfers.
