The good, the bad, and the ugly....

I and a very well-traveled woman that has traveled extensively to the Caribbean & Mexico, Hawaii and many tropical destinations. I would normally start with the good, but want to end the review on a high note so I will start with the ugly. We arrived at the resort at 3pm check in time, after the flight and long drive from MBJ airport we were expecting to be able to check into our rooms when we arrived. No such luck, one of the rooms was ready just before 6pm and the other one not until almost 7:30pm. When our friends got into the room their air condition was not working, they called to get it fixed and although maintenance arrived it could not be repaired, they tried to switch rooms but nothing was available until the next day. When they switched rooms the next day many things were missing, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, all toiletries, empty refrig etc etc. We ended up all spending two days trying to get everything that they needed. The BAD, none of the bars had any fruit garnishes, lemons, limes, mint, oranges, etc. No consistency in any of the types of liquor, juices etc at the bars. One bar you could get a bloody mary, the next one wouldn't have any tomato juice, etc. The quality of many of the food items were not what we expected from an Azul property after having previously stayed at Azul in Mexico. I have stayed at 7 different resort properties in Jamaica, and this one was my least favorite for food and beverage quality. The GOOD, more like GREAT was the hospitality & rectification we received from Petrina Robinson, Customer Care Manager. She most certainly earned her stars & stripes by assisting all of us & personally sitting down with us, listening to our issues and magically fixing each & everyone of them. When she wasn't there, we were delightfully assisted by her team Jahnoy & Renee. I am a destination wedding planner who has been in the hospitality business all my life, and I must truly say that I never met someone as sincere, empathetic who could turn such a Ugly 1st impression into a Marvelous memory. Petrina had grace under pressure & delivered what she promised, and filled our hearts with One Love. Thank you sooo much Petrina, we truly appreciated all of your sincere assistance.

Azul Beach Resort is a stunning resort with the friendliest staff that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Special shout out to Keneatha and Kwame for making it steady so special and going above and beyond in every aspect. The food was lovely in each restaurant, with the Asian restaurant being a particular favourite of mine.
