Check in line wasn’t bad for a Friday afternoon, once we reached the desk we were greeted by a friendly clerk who asked what brought us to the city and if we were celebrating anything. My wife answered tha...t we were on the first leg of a trip to Europe for our anniversary. The agent congratulated us and told us that we were in an upgraded room and that she’d send up a bottle of wine for us. Security was friendly and seemed to consistently check for keys before allowing elevator access, the hotel location is excellent and as we entered the elevator we were feeling really good about our hotel choice. Then we go to the room, being in the city we expected a small room, so that wasn’t a surprise. A Quick Look around at the scuffed walls taped in window air conditioner, and lousy view left us wondering just what our room was upgraded from. The window air conditioner and failing tape around it let in a lot of outside noise, the room safe didn’t work, there was no tv remote and the second air conditioner (a mini split system that we did use) worked fine but was pretty dirty. Security responded quickly when we called down about the safe and 2 visits later resolved the issue. It took 3 calls over 2 days but finally a remote control was left by the room door. Overall pretty disappointing for a 4 star hotel and we will stay elsewhere the next time we are in New York.

A very unique hotel with character and charm. The Rum Bar is a hidden gem — cozy atmosphere and truly well-crafted cocktails (not just ice-filled glasses!). Every evening, the waiters sing live — and they’...re amazing. The only downsides were the street noise (very loud, as if the windows were open) and the small bathroom. Otherwise, a great and memorable stay.

Dear hosts from Hotel Edison, thank you for everything, it was more than perfect. Because of the great destination we visited our entire bucket list. Love this hotel - stay here 5-6x/year. Staff always goes above and beyond. Always a great value and the location is perfect. I normally travel by myself and appreciate the 24/7 security at the elevators.... And I like that if you go out the 46th Street doors, you can scoot through the Marriott and Shubert alleys, avoiding the crowds in Times Square.

I came back to the Edison because I was there a couple of years ago , and I had a great experience as I did this time . Rooms are super comfortable,excellent breakfast at Bond restaurant . When we check i...n we had 2 rooms in the 3rd floor that were facing a wall and were noisy because of the central airconditing , and we spoke to Dave , front manager and he told us that , they were fully booked that night and he changed our rooms the next day to the 11 th floor , taking care of our luggage as well. Location of the hotel is excellent . As our flight was late at night we can pay for a late check out at 6 pm .
