HOTEL IS A SCAM - ROBBED MY MONEY

Amber P on Dec 20, 2024

DO NOT BOOK - HOTEL IS A SCAM I booked for next week & got a call today to say our room had gone up in price by £800 and I either pay it or they’ll cancel the booking. Awful customer service, asked to speak to a supervisor and said they’ll call me back if they are free! Meaning they won’t call back and will just cancel the room. Now I am going on holiday without a hotel… so disappointed as I thought this was a big company & we are already staying in the Daytona beach location for the other part of our holiday

Old - Clean it Up!

Chris B on Dec 13, 2024

Quick trip to Orlando with our 3 kids. Stayed 4 nights at the Hard Rock. Pros - Location - close to park - Fast Pass included which is essential to a decent day at the parks - Fun atmosphere with live DJs at the pool on certain days - Kids loved the water slide - Great staff from the front desk to the pool, we had a great experience with the people working here - Onsite restaurants not bad, much better than anything you'd get in the park or at City Walk - Room was large and easily fit the 5 of us One con - OLD. It's a little disgraceful how bad our initial room was. Cloth furniture was stained with what looked like grease. Furniture including chairs and sofa couch were torn. Things in general are dented, dinged and scratched. The last straw was the stains on the sheets. They looked like rust or blood stains though I really don't know. The whole room felt gross, skeeved us out, especially my wife. To the staff's credit they changed our room and moved our luggage immediately but....come on. They're charging up to $1200 a night for these rooms, they should be clean and look a bit better than the roadside motel off 95 for $57/night. The new room was an exact replica of our original but very clean with new furniture. They probably should've provided an upgrade but gave use some drink tickets instead. Overall, it's a fun property with a great location IN DESPERATE NEED OF A RENOVATION!

The rockstars home of universal

toastycakes6377 (Grand Blanc Township, Michigan) on Dec 11, 2024

It truly was the rockstar experience, the scenery and music helped set the mood. The many art works of musician's and autographed guitars thru the hotel. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds, didn't use the pool but would have loved to hear those underwater speakers. Comfortable beds and pillows, express pass and close distance to universal City walk was the determining factor for us. First time checking in and was not disappointed. Water taxi included.

Hospitality and Locale Exceptional -- Rooms Need Major TLC

Dean F (San Antonio, Texas) on Dec 05, 2024

The exceptional service and location to the parks is what makes the stay -- period. The rooms (Deluxe Queen was our stay for 3-nights) is average to below-average at best. And given the rate per night the quality should be much better for what one pays. Furniture torn, no outlets would hold the plug (had to rig a solution to make it work) and the outlet in the bathroom kept tripping when the in-room hairdryer was plugged in. Couch looked like someone had taken scissors to it......management needs to invest in room renovations. Here is what does work -- the food at the pool bar & drinks were great. And the quality of service by David, Robert and Hoover made for a fun evening. Also the Velvet lounge had some of the coldest beers I've had in a long time; and good food. And we had fun hearing stories from "Skinny" who is a great bartender and hospitality worker. Breakfast in The Kitchen was also quite good. And the 5-min walk to Universal Studios and the room key allowing for Express Pass Line use was also a good benefit. Quick Note: Hagrid's Wild Ride is not an Express Pass so use Early Park admission to get over and ride. Took only 15-min to get on the ride by doing so -- and when we got off the wait had climbed to 80-minutes. Would I go back -- not until they significantly upgrade the rooms. But I must say the hospitality was exceptional by the staff and it made the stay magical. Rock on......

Just average

Jamie-Leigh S on Dec 01, 2024

It’s only OK. Currently in 6053 for our anniversary today. Outlets aren’t great and interconnecting room walls are paper thin (TMI but I can hear the family next door using the bathroom). You get express passes but they weren’t really like fast passes at all. Beds are comfortable but other than that not really worth the money. Wouldn’t stay here again.
